They probably want to use Super Cruise 2.0 (true 3 Level) on all models, include XT4, instead of the current version of the system. This is what I meant.

As far as I know, Alpha and Omega have multiple limitations on the electrical /electronic part, in a rigid structure (especially important for SUV) etc. In addition, GM switches to a all new electric platform (Global B) instead current A, therefore, it is much easier and cheaper to design a new architecture instead of update an outdated Alpha and an aging Omega. Also VSS platforms will be compatible with BEV3 for electric vehicles.
Ah...makes sense now. Thanks for clearing that up.

Do U really think anything from Audi is really worth the difference in price over a VW? I've yet to see anything. The Q7 vs Tuarehg(whatever, I'm not even gonna try) is an example.
For the most part no. But Audi offers engines that VW doesn't get. Wife leased a 2012 Tiguan, but I would have paid extra for the Q5 just to get a 3.0T. Same reason the Macan appeals to me now - an even better option than the Q5 gets.

Boss approached me about 5 months ago wanting a new vehicle. I recommended the Yukon Denali because there is zero incentive to buy an Escalade over it. He has a Denali Ultimate for a solid $15K less than an equivalent Escalade and told me he gets nothing but compliments.

So in some cases the premium badge is worth it. The new Escalade V (or whatever the hell they call it) will make the Escalade worthwhile, but I've never seen a reason to buy it when the Denali exists.

But lots of people do see a reason to buy an Escalade over a Denali. To you the badge isn't worth it. To others it is. That's why we have choice.

I have a Yukon.. tuned to have as much if not more HP than the 6.2L Denali.. and let me tell U.. if the Escalade had been avail when I bought my Yukon I'd of paid that extra doe with no issue.. and I get mad compliments on my 2015.. many people think its new too. The styling on the K2XX SUVs is hands down the best looking on the road.. all of them. Shoot.. Ford tried to copy the lines of the Yukon for its weird looking utes

True. Just the sheer amounts of Escalade's out there on the roads shows that a substantial amount of the buying public seem to think so.
That's because the name Escalade carries some weight behind it, it's been the top dog of its segment for the last 18 years...XT6 doesn't have any cred, any history, any anything. In the Escalade's case, buyers aren't ponying up for just the Cadillac badge, they're doing it to say that they have an Escalade.

What about the SRX and XT5 sales. If you don't think the badge has anything to do with it you're crazy.

Considering the fair amount of praising reviews starting to come in it may not be long 'til the "no cred" thing is moot. https://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f15/cadillac-xt6-reviews-294377/

So...are you arguing that the Cadillac badge has more clout than the Escalade nameplate? The SRX and XT5 are solid, nothing groundbreaking nor are they segment leaders. They're largely purchased by buyers wanting a luxury 2 row CUV...but are on a budget.

Case in point from the mouth of a Cadillac Owner:

GM seems more interested in profitability than it does in making the best cars and SUVs at Cadillac. That said, I didn't buy my XT5 because it was best in class, I bought it for it's looks and value for the $$.

And what's wrong with that? it's the Cadillac looks he wanted. He obviously paid a lot more than he would have for an Equinox. you're just on this ridiculous campaign because you don't like the car. the market will tell the story.
