I definately like this over the 350Z, however, something feels a little off about it. I think that the front is a tad bit too long for the car, I think that the vehicle would look a bit better if the wheelbase were lengthened, moving the front axle forward just slightly.

I do like the roofline quite a bit, especially the single flowing line from the top of the windscreen all the way back to the tail lights. I cannot stand the (as described previously) "fish hook" headlights, however, the tail lights can stay. The rear end as a whole looks better than the 350Z, however, the pseudo-spoiler on this looks just as stupid as the one on the G6...

Overall though, I do believe that Nissan has done well with this.

I like it, for sure. It looks far more sculpted and crisp than the current Z, which just looks like a bar of soap.

It's just BEGGING for a whale-tail. I'll take mine in black with black leather, my aftermarket whale-tail, and some black-framed projector headlights.

Nissan 911?
Mid-Week Salutations Wescoent:

We do see things in a similar way. The moment I saw the concept I immediately thought of my 1970 911 Targa. I think that design philosophy may serve Nissan well. It is muscular, traditional, and quite Avante Garde.

I also owned a 300ZX which was one of the most trouble free vehicles I ever owned, and really fun to drive. Had I been a little younger and more flexible I would have one today (a covertible).

I know it will sell well!

Don't forget Mustang. All the Pony Cars are modern retro now.
I don't mind some themes carrying over from past designs but just modernizing a 40 year old design doesn't work for me. It's like a lack of ideas or something. The new Mustang looked great for about a year, now I see it and I think ugh. It's gotten stale really fast.

Gotta keep moving forward with design, can't live on the coattails of the '69 design in 2010.
