Congrats on your new truck.. Just wondering though.. would a 2500 Sierra just have been too much truck for you? You could have used your card money on that, right ?
Actually I would have loved a 2024 Sierra 2500 SLE with the new interior and the 6.6 gasser. Problem is the Elevation is a good value proposition so similarly equipped the 2500 is almost 10k more. Plus the fact that not in a million years would I even see 16.5k on the hood of a 2500.

The 1/2 ton was better for me plus I am wierd and I like to mess around with new tech so the upgraded 2.7t with 430 ft/lbs of torque tickles my fancy.

Keep in mind I once bought a 205 hp 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS over a 260hp 2008 Chevy Cobalt SS specifically for the supercharger scream.

In a word… No, not typically. The OP stole that thing Turbomax or not. That dealer discount was so high they were past invoice and likely blew past hold back to make that deal. I don’t know where the money came from but good for him.

On new 2024 models the rebates are just starting for $750 off a 5.3L and whatever they have on the Turbomax, usually several thousand.

Dealers around me if it is a 3.0L or a 6.2L it is like nearly sticker. Some room but not much on the 5.3L. The Turbomax is the one with some wiggle room. Not like the OP got, though maybe half of that 15K off. You are lucky to get 4K off a 5.3L and 3.0L/6.2L maybe a grand.

Not typically a bronze guy, but with the black trim on the Elevation it looks sharp. On my second Sierra personally, I sure wish it was close to $45,000 and had $15,000 in rebates… But I picked a way more expensive truck. But even for the deal, I would be hard pressed to give up the small block V8 even for 10 grand off.

Congrats to the OP! Best of luck with it.
Thanks for the kind words. I agree with you I think the bronze looks bad with Chrome but on the Elevation trim with the black it looks much better. I originally wanted Blue but I'm glad I got the bronze.

I can break the deal down for you, I think most people can save at least 10k on an Elevation trim Sierra right now.

Rebates

$2,750 purchase allowance
$1,250 GM bonus cash
$2,500 Buick/GMC loyalty cash
$1,,000 Costco member rebate

Discounts

$3,000 off sticker from the dealer
$6,000 demo credit.

A few things. I didn't include the $1,500 engine credit becuse that's on the window sticker. Also, the truck only had 3018 miles on it for being a demo vehicle for over a year and was immaculate.

So, the dealer made money on the sale which is a good thing becuse I wouldn't want them to loose money.

According to the dealer anyone that wants a 2.7 to save money opts for the Pro or SLE. Also nobody that had came before to look at the truck liked the color.

GM has been pushing huge discounts specifically on the Elevation trim with 2.7 because their not moving. It's a win for me.

Just curious, if you are a car guy, why did you buy a truck?
Great question!

1. I just moved from the suburbs of Philadelphia to a small farming community about 60 miles west. I finally have space for a truck.

2. I have been doing physical labor for 23 years and my back feels more comfortable sitting upright.

3. For the past 10 years I have been daily driving a cargo van and I enjoy the elevated seating position and the feeling of having more command of the road.

I very briefly drove a 2013 Terrain before going back to a car in the LaCrosse but yes having a half ton truck is a fun new experience. 😀

Very nice! I’m interested in some real world thoughts and opinions on the turbo max.
It's hands down the best base engine of the Big 3 1/2 ton trucks, puts the 3.3 Ford and 3.6 Pentastar to shame. The previous 4.3 LV3 V6 also stomped the competition.

Problem is that it's a high output turbo and it's not compared to the other base engines.

Driving it, it feels like a small displacement turbo -diesel. Driving normal around town (if you have earmuffs on) it feels exactly the same as Driving a Sierra with the L83 5.3 V8. Low down torque out the wazoo, no fuss no mess.

Out on the highway if your stomping on it to get into a drag race, the 5.3 and the Ford 2.7 Nano feel more powerful because

1. They are more powerful.
2. They are not undersquare engine designs and Rev more freely.

That being said, the truck I purchased fits my needs and it feels more then just "adequate" That's a homerun in my book, a base engine in a 5,000 lb truck that doesn't feel like a base engine.

More so the color matching bumpers and trim is what makes the look imo, a PM at my work has a LT silverado in that color and i agree that the chrome just looks terrible against it imo.

I think if i were to buy a new truck today i would give the elevation model a hard look but even this tier is now approaching 60k!

So I called customer service today and opened a ticket. They were not aware that the half ton trucks don't qualify for gm card redemption.

I'm going to see if they will work with me by taking fifteen hundred dollars off my account and crediting me a hundred and fifty thousand points on my gm rewards account.

That way I have some money to play with for accessories.

Just a follow up to the GM card issue I had.
The rewards program is cutting the dealer a check for fifteen hundred dollars who will then be passing it on to me.

I already got the confirmation email that the redemption has gone through. So now just waiting for a check in mail.

Overall, I am happy with the results. And i'm very happy with the truck as well.
