Just traded in my 2017 Buick LaCrosse, which I dearly loved and was super reliable and comfortable. However I have always wanted a truck, and I found this beauty that I couldn't pass up.

It's a CCSB with the 2.7 TurboMax 4, no options except the Goodyear Trail runner AT tires, bedliner, and the blacked out GMC emblems.

In case anyone is wondering the details....

MSRP $59,680.00
DD.......-$9.000
Rebate-$7,500

Out the door price w/ tax and tags $45,450

One thing I was shocked by is how restrictive GM is on GM card redemptions now. Apparently only 14 models across all of GM including the Terrain, Enclave and the Sierra 2500 at Buick/GMC. No half ton trucks and no cars quality, and no crossovers under $35k. Super pissed about that I have 4k on my card I will never be able to use now, none of the qualifying vehicles ai would purchase in the next 5 years.

Congrats on your truck!!

Man, are we back to the days of over priced PU with giant rebates/discounts on the hood?? Your $16.5k in discounts is almost enough for a brand new Trax!!

Thank you. It was an impulse buy. I certainly would not have purchased the truck without having those sort of discounts.

I made out very well because I got fifteen thousand dollars on the hood of the lacrosse in twenty seventeen.

It only cost me four thousand dollars to own in six years Based on what they gave me for the trade.

Really appreciate all the nice words everyone has to say. I don't have a lot of personal friends so my online communities mean a lot!

Some other observations. It seems like after every new generation of GM pickup truck I change my mind on which one looks the best. GMT-800 I likes the Silverado, GMT-900 liked the Sierra, K2 liked the Silverado again. T1, back to liking the Sierra.

Also, waited this long to buy a truck becuse I am honest with myself and I'm not going to use it as a truck. Finally, GM has put an interior into a truck that I, as a car person, can appreciate. I'm still a GM guy so this makes me happy, I don't think I would have been as happy in a Ram Big Horn.

Congrats on your new truck.. Just wondering though.. would a 2500 Sierra just have been too much truck for you? You could have used your card money on that, right ?

Actually I would have loved a 2024 Sierra 2500 SLE with the new interior and the 6.6 gasser. Problem is the Elevation is a good value proposition so similarly equipped the 2500 is almost 10k more. Plus the fact that not in a million years would I even see 16.5k on the hood of a 2500.

The 1/2 ton was better for me plus I am wierd and I like to mess around with new tech so the upgraded 2.7t with 430 ft/lbs of torque tickles my fancy.

Keep in mind I once bought a 205 hp 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS over a 260hp 2008 Chevy Cobalt SS specifically for the supercharger scream.

Congrats. The Elevation is a sharp trim. Wishing you many happy miles.

It's hands down the best base engine of the Big 3 1/2 ton trucks, puts the 3.3 Ford and 3.6 Pentastar to shame. The previous 4.3 LV3 V6 also stomped the competition.

Problem is that it's a high output turbo and it's not compared to the other base engines.

Driving it, it feels like a small displacement turbo -diesel. Driving normal around town (if you have earmuffs on) it feels exactly the same as Driving a Sierra with the L83 5.3 V8. Low down torque out the wazoo, no fuss no mess.

Out on the highway if your stomping on it to get into a drag race, the 5.3 and the Ford 2.7 Nano feel more powerful because

1. They are more powerful.
2. They are not undersquare engine designs and Rev more freely.

That being said, the truck I purchased fits my needs and it feels more then just "adequate" That's a homerun in my book, a base engine in a 5,000 lb truck that doesn't feel like a base engine.

Great question!

1. I just moved from the suburbs of Philadelphia to a small farming community about 60 miles west. I finally have space for a truck.

2. I have been doing physical labor for 23 years and my back feels more comfortable sitting upright.

3. For the past 10 years I have been daily driving a cargo van and I enjoy the elevated seating position and the feeling of having more command of the road.

I very briefly drove a 2013 Terrain before going back to a car in the LaCrosse but yes having a half ton truck is a fun new experience. 😀

So I called customer service today and opened a ticket. They were not aware that the half ton trucks don't qualify for gm card redemption.

I'm going to see if they will work with me by taking fifteen hundred dollars off my account and crediting me a hundred and fifty thousand points on my gm rewards account.

That way I have some money to play with for accessories.

Just a follow up to the GM card issue I had.
The rewards program is cutting the dealer a check for fifteen hundred dollars who will then be passing it on to me.

I already got the confirmation email that the redemption has gone through. So now just waiting for a check in mail.

Overall, I am happy with the results. And i'm very happy with the truck as well.
