GM Dealership Closing List (Updating Constantly)

I just got an email with some dealers in the Portland, Oregon metro area closing:

Russ Chevrolet - Tigard
Bruce Chevrolet - Hillsboro
Mollala Chevrolet - Mollala
Randy Jones Chevrolet - Corvallis

Agreed 100% All we ever hear from the media is Doom and Gloom and Im about tired of hearing it! When the news comes on anymore I just change the channel. If they would keep their mouths shut about how bad everything is maybe people wouldn't be so scared.

i just talked to the service opps manager @ lupient and the bloomington store is closing as well as viking in rochester mn.

While this thread is a nice idea in theory, without a way to verify information, it is nothing short of a potential disaster for any dealership flagged as one going away but may not actually have received a letter.

I think I can see why GM would not have publicized the list at this point - the terminations are appealable unlike Chrysler's terminations, and they will take effect almost 18 months from now. But GM's silence as to who is on "the list" does nobody any favors, as the rumor mill will fill in the blanks. Is any dealer going to actually tell its customers that they're going away in late 2010 if it doesn't have to? So the net result is that any dealer is a potential closure, and uncertainty is spread throughout the entire dealer network instead of just on the stores that are closing. D'oh.

If I were a dishonest surviving dealer and wanted to spread doubt about my competitors, I'd add a couple of them to this list so customers have a question in their mind as to whether that competitor will survive.

So Barbera ARE keeping Chevy?

My cuddin' is a gettin' a smackdown for giving me inaccurate information. He's married to a Torres who is related to the Barberas, so I assumed he had some "insider" information! That's what I get for trustin' an Assumptionite! :D

Still, it's amazing that such a tiny dealership will be staying open. Good for the Barbera family though.

Some more suggestions: You should list the source where the info comes from.

Also, this shouldn't be a "closing" list, but a "losing a GM franchise" list. Some of the dealers may stay open selling other brands or used cars.

I'm drawing to the end of my weekend so I probably I am not going to visit the forum (or maintain the list) much till next weekend.

The only list being actively maintained is the first list on the front page of this thread. Posts on this thread are meant for discussion and to inform as as to dealers who might be closing.

Any posting of any list elsewhere on this thread (beyond the first post of the thread) or elsewhere on this site is not being actively maintained and is considered a part of the discussion. Therefore it will not be edited and updated as new information becomes available.

Again, only the list on the first post of the thread will be updated and edited. If you happen to go through the thread and report to the moderators every post which might mention something inaccurate (like a dealership closing or a dealership staying open) you will be banned from the thread.

Again the only list we are actively updating is the FIRST POST OF THE THREAD.

That was Interesting i talk to the receptionist today and she told me that thy are staying open and are doing well, but I would trust the service opps manager over a receptionist any day. I see more people dealing on cars at Suburban Chevrolet then Lupient it's like a ghost town over hear at the Bloomington dealer.

It looks like all the domestic brand dealers we will have left is Freeway Ford and Larry Reid's Bloomington Dodge,Chrysler and Jeep and Bloomington Lincoln Mercury.

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO MY TOWN!!!
