The article they have linked on that one states they lost a Jeep franchise not the GM business.

Chrysler tells Lake Country dealerships they're out.

OCONOMOWOC - Chrysler's plans to eliminate 789 dealerships across the county include two in Waukesha County, both of which are in the Oconomowoc area.
The dealership consolidation plans call for the elimination of 18 Wisconsin dealerships, including Lakeland Oldsmobile-Pontiac-GMC of Oconomowoc. But dealership co-owner Tom Manthy said his dealership is staying in business, even though the Jeep franchise may be discontinued as of June 9.

I think I heard somewhere that about 500 or GM stores sell less than 50 cars a year. All of these stores are likely to be shut down.

Not true, the ones in the rural areas won't close and don't have a lot of competition.

It is interesting that among most of the dealerships identified so far there are very few in major Metro areas such as NYC and surroundings. Any thoughts on this? The saturation is much great in metro areas than rural. I would think there would be at least some listed. Or are they all just keeping it to themselves.

There is a second wave coming in early June which will focus entirely on major metro markets.

It's Far from right... This list alone can cause a dealership to go under. People see it and run far away from the dealership they once had a great relationship with. It's sad that someone decided to post this.

My brother and I both bought 73 Grand Prix's from Roseland Pontiac in Chicago. I remember it being a very small store front type of place. It was 1972 then and we waited 100 days for the delivery. Another memory is that the salesman had a revolver in his drawer that looked like an elephant gun. Not a very nice neighborhood then so it must be a scarey place now.

I'm surprised there are only 4 stores in Pennsylvania listed. When Chrysler announced there closing, there were 53 stores in Pennsylvania alone!! Does anyone know how many stores GM has in PA?
