can anyone tell me where those American reviewers see the refinement in this interior? I neither see it on pictures nor I feel it when I am inside of GLS. The padded glove-box and upper-part of door panels are a nice touch but center console, buttons, switches, A/C vents, LCD screen looking like a tablet are all far from refined-looking. Meanwhile the Navigator's interior looks classy. At least in pictures.

Also take note JDN:
The new interior is a knockout. It’s wholly unique and derivative of nothing. As much as the new Volvo interior design is unreservedly Scandinavian, the Navigator’s design is unmistakably and unabashedly American.
That's what I want to read about every new Cadillac!

I'm glad Lincoln took it up a notch, this will force Cadillac to be better. As the Escalade had no real, direct competition they could get away with being ok (and I do like the look of the Escalade interior), but I do recognize that they could and should have done better for a $100,000+ vehicle. I do believe we have read the next gen will have independent rear suspension, am I correct?
Yes, next Gen Escalade is going IRS.

Competition is good for the industry, and even better for the consumer!! I love that this segment is getting more competitive.

This monstrosity makes the Pontiac Aztec look decent.
The Haterade is strong with this one.

It's going to be interesting to see how the buying public jumps on this. Navigator has long been a has been so by keeping the name they really need to wade through the bad history and sell the new one.
That's the million dollar question. Its been a long time since the Navigator invented and led the segment. I am a firm believer that if the product is good, people will buy it, but the luxury space is very fickle.

The harder someone tries to convince us that it's ugly, the more I see it's style clearer and recognize jealousy.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks. (Hamlet Act 3, scene 2, 222–230)

BTW, which review claimed it is much better than the Escalade?
The C&D Reviewer said he would buy the new Navigator over the Escalade and GLS, if that's what you are referring to.

In a strictly objective sense it is probably better than the Escalade, but the Cadillac is a unique status symbol and sell better. Brand matters.
And it had better be better than the now 4 year old Escalade. There's no surprise that the all new Navigator was going one up the Escalade in some very important areas. This kind of competition is indeed very good!

Wait are you telling me some people like things others do not?

Wow it's as if there is more than one opinion out there...who would have thought?

I see now, it's like how some people think the Navigator front end looks alright and how others think it looks like complete garbage.

Thanks for clearing that up. Learn something new every day...

p.s. Those Nav wheels are trash....argue that opinion

As wheels, they are successful at accomplishing their designed purpose. They allow proper fitment upon the vehicle in question. They allow the mounting of adequate tyres for the designed and planned use of the vehicle. They are successful at supporting the weight of the vehicle.

Because you are disinclined to agree with the aesthetic choices made in the design of the wheels does not make them "trash". They were designed with a purpose and function in mind and they fulfill those requirements.

Ok Ok we understand you don't like the 2018 Navigator. Give it a rest!
Ford, still hasn't sent his "Teddy" back that they stole from him as a kid.

Here, I'll get him started.

And we'll get this out of the way now: it's far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade.
(not my words)

Jason, you do realize he was just replying to someone else?s comment, right?

Chill dude.

While this forum is generally an enjoyable place to take in a variety of opinions of the full range of automotive product I have to admit it's at it's most enjoyable when Ford/Lincoln actually do something right! The kneejerk haterade from a select few increases in direct proportion to how well a Ford/Lincoln product is reviewed. I hope Lincoln continues to struggle even if only out of concern for the mental health of a few posters.
