It kinda hurts because I've always been a GM fan. I love the Corvette and Camaro, but realistically, neither are going to be practical options. If I have to replace my car I want a coupe or a sporty hatchback and something a little bold and exciting. Sadly, Chevy offers no affordable choices and I would have to buy a Honda or a Kia. I would have bought a Cobalt SS Turbo. But the Cruze is a stodgy, boring 4-door sedan with about as much excitement as a riding lawn mower and I would never buy a car with so little horsepower. The Sonic is so small its virtually useless.

I was thinking the same thing... I think the C4 Z07 was the last time a funky option was offered... the rest have been paint / decal schemes on standard corvettes...

Blah what a joke. This is GM's problem. Special= stickers. GM should have done something truely different like a custon color with custom wheels and maybe some body work or other accent pieces. Then offer some kind of special feature package to go with the looks. Things like HID's with the zr1 style selectable mag ride as a package.

I have to say i'm not too impressed with this iteration of the corvette. Its mostly a bunch of stickers and a few options that you could probably get without the centennial edition. But it does look good in black.

I really hope there is a sporty Cruze coupe.. Something with a turbo option would be preferred. The wife is really wanting one and frankly I'd kinda like it too.. Some of those chops MonaroSS did last year on the Cruze were absolutely amazing. Very high class Chevrolet meets BMW stuff and is just hands down everything I love and think future Chevrolet should be. I'm also hoping for a Sky/Solstice replacement in the Chevrolet line and of course a Zeta coupe/sedan deal (Chevelle).

Keep the Sonic for the kids.. It's small and has that 'ricer' look those fast & furious wannabe's go for. And that's cool.. Gotta keep em happy too but I prefer a little more sophistication. Chevrolet is one of the very few brands that can pull all of this off and get away with it. From little cars with little sophistication to high class cars loaded with it that truely say 'Chevrolet' with class and style. They can do hot rods, sports cars, fuel sippers, battery cars and have a 4x4 truck following only equaled by Ford. GM better be giving us Chevy guys the goods in the near future.... We've been waiting a long time.

Oh, and the Vette's nice but too busy for my tastes. I'd rather have a plain Z06 or even just a stock C6. I just prefer the clean look I guess... No stickers and all that extra stuff.

Another Corvette with slapped on labels and some additional plastic. Time (way past time) for a completely new Corvette. As far as the Cruze goes, GM's recent statement that the car, which is new to the U.S., is too far into it's life cycle to get a hatchback says a lot. When do we in the U.S get something other than a rebadged Aussie car?

As an owner of a C6 corvette I'm obviously biased yet I've never been a fan of these special editions but they do sell cars for GM so what the hell.

The steering wheel in alcantra is nice. I'm not a big fan of decals or black wheels but at least GM got the color of the car right. ;)

Had to go to another site for pictures.

The black stickers on the C pillar would get ripped off.

I love the blacked out front Corvette emblem. I am glad to see they brought back red on the Calipers - looks really sharp on the black car. Plus the 6 piston brembos and the CF rotors look awesome in red and much better then the blue on the ZR1 or Grey in the Z06 Carbon edition.

Speaking of Carbon - that show car model is basically a Z06 carbon with some different paint options. I am digging the red thread on the interior - is the shifter, ebrake handle covered in alcantara as well?

The 2012 Chevrolet Centennial Edition Corvette Z06 is based on the production 3LZ model with the Z07 performance package, new Z06 carbon fiber hood and CFZ carbon fiber package, which includes:

â– Bose premium sound system, with one-year XM subscription, navigation and USB
â– Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity
â– Power-adjustable and heated seats
â– Memory package, home remote, Head Up Display and power-telescoping steering wheel
â– The Custom Leather Wrapped Interior Package, with leather-wrapped upper instrument panels, upper door trim panels and console storage cover and red contrasting stitching
â– Z07 performance package, including Brembo ceramic brakes, Magnetic Ride Control and 19-inch/20-inch wheels and Michelin tires
â– CFZ package includes carbon fiber rockers, front splitter and roof
â– New Carbon Fiber raised hood option for Z06, which was introduced on the 2011 Z06 Carbon Edition.

The Chevrolet Centennial Edition Corvette expresses racing heritage, but does so with a sleek, modern, even sinister-looking appearance. The Centennial Edition package comes exclusively in Carbon Flash Metallic, with satin-black graphics and unique Centennial Satin Black wheels and red brake calipers. The wheels are constructed of lightweight cast-spun aluminum and include a thin red outline around the perimeter of its surface on the Z06. The wheels are specific to the respective Corvette models, including 18-inch/19-inch for Coupe, Convertible and Grand Sport; and 19-inch/20-inch for Z06 and ZR1.

Magnetic Selective Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension and a technology advance initiated by Corvette, is included on all Chevrolet Centennial Edition Corvette models.

The Centennial Edition also features special badges that signify Chevrolet’s racing history. A graphic logo featuring an iconic image of Louis Chevrolet appears on the B-pillars, the center caps of the wheels, and the center of the steering wheel. The seat headrests also carry an embossed centennial logo.

Aficionados will note one other small detail: The historic crossed flags badge contains a small adaptation, with “100” in place of the traditional fleur-de-lis symbol, only for the Centennial Edition.

The exterior color scheme is reinforced inside the car, with the Ebony leather-wrapped instrument panel and doors complimented by red stitching on the steering wheel, seats, console and shifter. Microfiber suede accents on Centennial Edition seats, steering wheel, shifter and armrests were first used on the 2011 Z06 Carbon Limited Edition.

The Chevrolet Centennial Edition will be available on all Corvette models via order code ZLC. Pricing will be released this summer prior to the start of availability.

Oh, never mind it's just a sticker package  WTF?!

â– Bose premium sound system, with one-year XM subscription, navigation and USB
Doesn't the Vette already offer a Bose premium audio system with AM/FM/XM? Doesn't it already offer a nav system?
â– Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity
Doesn't the Vette already offer Bluetooth?
â– Power-adjustable and heated seats
Doesn't the Vette already offer this too? At least the powered part I'm sure.
â– Memory package, home remote, Head Up Display and power-telescoping steering wheel
Pretty sure it offers most all of this too.
â– The Custom Leather Wrapped Interior Package, with leather-wrapped upper instrument panels, upper door trim panels and console storage cover and red contrasting stitching
You can get a full leather package that's 95% of what this is anyway. Sure it's nice, but again, it's mostly just some aesthetics.
â– Z07 performance package, including Brembo ceramic brakes, Magnetic Ride Control and 19-inch/20-inch wheels and Michelin tires
So ... already something you can get.
â– CFZ package includes carbon fiber rockers, front splitter and roof
I think you get that with the ZR1, if not the Z06 too.
â– New Carbon Fiber raised hood option for Z06, which was introduced on the 2011 Z06 Carbon Edition.
Woah! :D
Some extra showing off and equipment you can already get. Next.

In a nutshell, I really like it. I like the color combo, red stitching, Z07/CFZ option, and mag ride. You can pretty much get a ZR1 chassis with ZR1 looks.

However, I wouldn't buy it. Performance wise, it's great and we all know that it's a "performance bargain", but the interior looks way too dated and the tech isn't up to par. It's hard to justify that type of interior and tech when you can find 10K (or more in some cases) laying on the hood of a Vette. Thus, GM can't convince me that adding a couple more features, a little bit better materials, a unique steering wheel, etc. isn't possible. Sure, profit might be a little less, but GM will easily make that up when thousands of new customers that would never even consider a Vette, walk in the door to purchase one because it meets global standards.

Now, I'm not one of these people that bashes the interior just to bash it. In my opinion, Corvette interiors aren't as bad as some claim. I don't have a big problem with the overall materials used (although they should be better), but I do have a problem with the overall execution. For instance, the Cruze's interior look more modern and dare I say more expensive than the Vette. I'm sure the Cruze's materials aren't any better, but the fit and finish and overall design makes it look and feel much more expensive than it is.

I realize we won't see an updated design until the C7 comes out, so I stopped judging Vette interiors several years ago, but GM needs to get the Vette up to snuff on that end to get my dollar. I have no doubt the C7 will fix that.

I'm beginning to think the only thing people do on this forum is b!tch. Seriously, have some of you whiners ever driven a new Cruze? It drives better than you might think, and the power is rather deceptive. Mine is my DD, and honestly i don't miss the -300 horsepower when going from my vette to the Cruze.

It's not perfect and sure i wish it had more power, but it is surprisingly peppy. And if it did have 200 hp i guarantee most of you same people on here would be bitching & moaning about the gas mileage. LOL. And boring....please! My previous DD was a Cobalt, don't get me started on how much BETTER the CRUZE is over the Cobalt.

Oh yeah, this thread is supposed to be about the Centennial Corvette, right? Awesome Car.

What did everyone expect? Was GM going to transplant the XTS Concept's interior into the Corvette, plus add a 900hp engine option?

No, this is exactly what should've been expected: A well optioned Corvette, which is already the performance bargain of the century, with some distinctive Centennial design cues...

They could've put a Centennial emblem on the console and on the rear deck and that would've been fine... The Corvette, performance wise, is that good and clearly lives up to the "founding of Chevrolet is based on motorsports" statement.

Performance models being offered by Chevrolet has always been sporadic at best. Sure, I'd love to have a Cruze SS model. But the Corvette and Camaro aren't too shabby. Other than at the height of the classic muscle car years of 1964-1972, Chevrolet has rarely offered high performance models other than Corvette and Camaro... And sometimes, even they weren't exactly "high performance."

This is what the usual special edition" corvettes are like.

At least they've done the alcantra steering wheel. Thats a nice feature that I may add to my present vette.

Without knowing the cost of this option its hard to say if it is a good way to go for new corvette buyers...

Definitely a premier performance sports car with or without the centennial edition option and transaction prices for consumers have never been better for such performance.
