Trax should have won it. Envista would have been acceptable as well.

Dollar for Dollar they’re the best product GM makes. Best vehicle/product for the money out there.

Blazer EV is way too expensive and really isn’t all that impressive for what you get in comparison.
I stopped in a local dealership earlier this week. Trax/Envistas are on the lots here, but very few. It seems like they show up but by the time in the same area next week the ones I saw are gone and may or may not be replaceced by new ones.

Dealer is NOT charging over invoice for them, but they are making them hard for someone who cares about value to pull the trigger. Wanted $1000 deposit to 'reserve' one that is on the way to the dealership. Was told they would have some 'accessories' on them (rust proofing and the dreaded $200+ pin stripe) that were non negotiable.

I ordered mine specifically and they required a $500 deposit to do that but they don't ask for a deposit to get one en route, although customers are doing that to guarantee they get one. No pinstripes or rust causing required. Most of the ones coming to my dealer sell before the truck gets here. So much for the crowd stating it'll never sell with only a 3-cylinder.

That 3 cylinder makes as much power as the 1.4 L turbo in the Cruze.

The Trax just proves if you create an attractive vehicle at a reasonable price with great overall value, folks will clamor to buy them. Shocking.

Exactly, it feels spunky around town, I haven't driven one on the Interstate yet but in town it feels good. Once I'm up to "cruising velocity", I'm sure it'll be fine. Onramps are NOT an issue. It was quite surprising, really. I guess perception matters because until I test drove one I was honestly a little concerned about what it would feel like but it was good.

Congratulations to GM for the Blazer EV winning MT SUV of the Year. Wasn't expecting it to be honest, but I'll take it given all the negative things happening out there.

Below are the nine finalists for 2024 SUV of the Year. Like Envoy4Life and AWHoden, I was expecting Chevy Trax to win. But Blazer EV would have been my second pick and Lyriq my third. ;)
  1. 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale
  2. 2024 BMW X1
  3. 2024 Cadillac Lyriq
  4. 2024 Chevrolet Trax
  5. 2023 Genesis GV70 Electrified
  6. 2024 Honda Pilot
  7. 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport
  8. 2023 Lexus RX
  9. 2024 Subaru Crosstrek

It's a testament to how good the Trax is (I think) to be a finalist in an SUV contest. Must have done something right, GM.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV Is the 2024 MotorTrend SUV of the Year Once again, the bow-tie brand proves its leadership in the electric vehicle space.

"Right now, at this very moment, we're living through the greatest shift in the automotive industry since the invention of the industry itself. Our transition away from fossil fuels has implications of vast magnitude; electric vehicles will redefine environments, industries, governments, and societies. Viewed so broadly, this shift seems daunting, insurmountable—but a narrower scope reveals how attainable it really is. It all comes down to you..."

Congratulations, GM.
Add it to the list of dogs MT has selected over the years, like the Renault Alliance. pick any of a number of losers they have chosen.

Sorry, My father purchased an 83 Renault Alliance. 5 speed manual. That thing was fun to shift. 130k miles on the original Michelin tires, with plenty of tread to spare. Was it perfect? Nope. However, It cemented my love for manual transmissions. Sold it to another family who kept it running well into the late 1990s.

My wife had one. She drove it from NJ all the way to San Antonio for her Airforce training. Then drove it up to Nevada and back. No issues. Sure it fell apart later due to rust, but never put her down.

I like dogs. They are cute, loyal, and dependable. What's the issue?
