Torana GPaks had 3300 6-cylinder engines, you might be thinking of the 'Plus 4'. They were made around the same time.

Dr Terry.
Correct as usual Dr Terry. The Gpak looked pretty horn for a limited edition, and had the SLR5000 sports hubcaps. The Plus 4's had the same hubcaps but they looked putrid as they were body coloured.

The Only PLus 4 I could find had no hubcaps. The 4 cylinders had a poxy looking grille too.

Yes indeed, the horn GPak was a 3300 with the Aussie "four on the floor".
The Plus 4 was based on the Torrie 1900. Opel engine, not sure but I'd guess a 4 speed as well - once again not sure if it was the Aussie box or the last of the weaker Opel boxes were used.

PS I wouldnt have looked for either of these under the term "Muscle Car" :)

The Opel 4-Speed was last seen in the LC/LJ series (export only in LJ).

The gearbox used behind early LH 1900 Toranas was the Aussie 4-speed, same as the Torana 6/V8 but with a re-located shifter mechanism. By 1975 when the Plus 4 was built, GM-H had started using the GM-Philipines 'Torquemaster' 4-Speed. The Torquemaster in various guises, lasted until the VK Commodore.

I actually did a search and found a 3300 GPak at musclecars. But as I knew a teacher had a 4 cylinder when I was at school I assumed the GPak must have been both I6 and I4 powered. But seeing those pics now it all comes back. I had completely forgotten the Plus 4.

Now I'm thinking that I want to find a Plus 4, put new alloy suspension and Brembos under it and fit it with billet 18's machined to replicate the hubcaps. Add black leather interior. And why do a show car standard vehicle for a lousy four cylinder? I'm thinking that Walkinshaw is bringing over a few boatloads of Ecotec engine/transmissions from Pontiac's GXP Solstice for the new little Elfin.

Hummmm! 2.0 DI Turbo and 194kW with 351Nm? Now that would be a Plus 4.......

Monaro i don't know whether Mikmak :D has told you but i am getting a silver nitrate SV6 sportswagon. I would love to some decals on this but the holden one's on the acc. list don't do any thing for me. I was thinking along the lines of the HK monaro gts stripe down one side of the car but i am not sure whether this would looks the goods or not. Any ideas on what would look good on the sportswagon. Also considering powder coating the original sv6 wheels black.

On the Gpak my uncle still talks about his Gpak and how he should have never gotten rid of it. Best car he has ever had and how loved putting the boot into it. i was only a little fellow when he had it but i remember always admiring it.

Jobs already done. :D

But I thought I'd just brighten asylum's chop a bit so you could see the detail better. And redline tyres are a bit hard to find in those sizes.....:yup:

Thats it's, Well done Asylum, i am liking the black wheels very much. I think with a dark tint, which is ordered they should set it off nicely. Shame about those redline tires. Maybe for a touch of red i do the calipers.

Howsabout the Challenge optional wheels on the wagon?
thats what i was originally thinking but i couldn't find any good pics of them!

cheers! dark tint is definitely a must-do.

the main reason i added the red-wall is from the pics i was using as inspiration originally (before i remembered about the 40th ann. edition) had red walls or some other 60-70's "sport" tyre... just thought it would add a little more retro in there :p

1200 for the tow bar, i only do light stuff with box trailer. Wife is giving it a test run to the shops for the xmas food shop as i type, this will be the test that no motor mag has run yet.

Gee, that looks good in nitrate.
Congrats!

Driving to Kangaroo Flat yesterday (just short of Bendigo) to pick up a new (60 year-old) driver's door for the humpute, I saw a ton of wagons. Holden's done a great job on the styling - even the rear quarter view where a wagon normally looks like an outdoor dunny in profile, looks really swoopy with nice rims.

And the colours in sunlight - the green, the blue, and even the grey just look stunning. No wonder they're selling like cold beer on a hot day. if my 'naro suddenly disappeared, or got written off, I think I'd go a blue SS wagon manual, debadged, and get Blackwells who are just around the corner from me to retrim in soft leather. Some nice wheels, maybe upsize the front discs, job's done.

Or stuff it, maybe just bite the bullet and get a HSV tourer in Voodoo. Good deals on them ATM.

Out of curiosity...does anyone know if it is possible to buy the Holden pieces to replace the pontiac ones on the outside if I buy one? I think they look alot cooler.
