Pulling a 3800 series III -hidden bolt like the Series I

I have a friend with a 2006 Lacrosse with a 3800 series III .

He is trying to pull the engine. There are four bolts that connect the bell house to the engine.

He is having trouble separating the engine from the transmission.

Are those the only bolts between the engine and bell house?

The reason I ask is that my 1992 Bonneville series 1 had an additional bolt that was on the other side of the housing. The only way to access it was to take about three feet of extensions and access it from the passenger side wheel well.

Any thoughts?

There are 5. It's commonly called the "Byotch" bolt.

Most people don't put it back in.

The bolt that threads into the bell housing from the passengers side is still used, put it back in when installing the replacement engine.

It's been 8 years since I pulled a 3800 for a transmission replacement but it was accessible from the top with a few extensions and a knuckle. Should be able to find it with a flashlight and some patience. I think I remember it being a nut and stud, perhaps it was an engine ground location...?

It's a regular 12mm bolt with a 18mm head you need to remove everything on the passengers side that bolts to the differential extension this will give access to the bolt straight in past the strut. Not bad to remove but I do it everyday.
