The LTZ V6's interior is very nice, you can't get an interior like that on the competition. I am glad they put the XM antenna to the back of the roof it looks weird up front on the Aura/G6. I just hope by the MCE they add those tech features.

The grey low end interior though is very unimpressive/underwhelming.

Unbelievable...what is GM doing? Making good looking cars? Is the sky falling? I like that so much more than the Accord and Camry. I smell a winner.

I fail to see how THIS:

Looks better than these GMI lambasted interiors:

The disgusting color scheme in the LTZ doesn't help anything.

HECK, at least the doors fit together with the dash better in the Chrysler LLC products!!

Depressing. The low grade plastics jump out in the photos despite the significantly better design details. No threat to Toyota or Honda here.

It looks expensive from the side--good thing. The nose is better, but still ugly and a MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR disappointment--bad thing. The rear end looks great, but it just doesn't belong on THIS car--again, bad. And the interior looks like____ --not anywhere near where it should be.

It will sell better, but it's not what it should or could be and leaves me feeling sick to my stomache once again. GM: your biggest selling, most important vehicles have been disappointments. WHAT the heck is it going to take to change management???

I want to like this car, but i cant get past the front and rear. I am sure quality wise its great, but the front and rear just isnt for me.
I totally agree. The profile is very attractive but the front and back of the car need a redesign.

I can't stand this color. It makes the interior look just as cheap and old as the current model.

My thoughts exactly....the center stack looks cheap and the vents look like they are off the current generation...at least the gauges look okay.

Based on PHOTOS, at least, I think the Chrysler got an unfair shake from you guys, while the Malibu was put on a way too tall pedestal.

Finally, pictures I feel comfortable with. I was born and raised a Chevy guy but could never get one due to circumstances. Times have changed and I can buy what I want but there were concerns about the current Malibu. These pictures have me convinced that waiting for the Malibu will be the right thing to do.

This is most definitely one of the nicest looking cars to come out of the Chevy design studio in recent years.

Nice pictures. I like the new Bu, whether it's enough I don't know. I hope so, GM needs a hit. It's the first Malibu I have seen since I was a kid that I would consider though, that has to be a good thing.

I don't know what to say about this...the photos speak for themselves and its a subjective thing, I guess.

Let it stand at - If I had bought a 2007 Impala LT with the flex fuel 3500, flip & fold rear seating, bench seat and Imperial Blue paint to replace my Bonneville (as I almost did) instead of waiting for the 2008 Malibu, I wouldn't have regretted it after these photos.

I know a lot of guys here rabidly want to like this car, so I'll just kick back and read from here on out. No need to nitpick what's already done. Besides, someone's going to say "It's just a stopgap!" anyway.

MING,

My wife and I recently looked at and test-drove a new 2007 Impala LTZ. We both felt the interior was very cheap - the door panels were hard plastic, the dash was hard plastic and the floor-mounted shifter handle felt very cheap and flimsy.

The LTZ was the up-level model (except the SS) and we were surprised at the cheapness of the interior.

We liked other features of the vehicle but the interior was the first thing that made us both think the car was low-budget.

We did not buy the car and are still looking.

Some of you guys want this car to be everything but it can't be in it's price slot. Remember, there will be those that want to spend near the mid 20's for this car and expect it to have everything including the kitchen sink. I'm one of those that want a good looking car for about 16k to 18k and want it to be this Malibu. No, I don't expect it to have much for what I'm willing to pay. That said, I will still get one and it will still be a Malibu.

Here are some more pictures of the 08 Malibu interior.

So there you go... its better than Sebring and the Avenger. I've been in an 08 Sebring and a 07 Aura and the Aura trumps it in just about every way. The Malibu has a very similar interior.

You sir are on crack. :D

The sebring's interior is all over the place, I think caranddriver said it best when they said it was a whole bunch of different things put together to make it look like the chrysler corporate lobby.

The malibu's design is much better, but it will ONLY work if the materials are up to snuff. For example in the pic that Sigma posted, if all the areas that are brown are noticeably soft touch, then the interior is a winner, otherwise it will come across as bad as the last one. And I HATE the corporate radio.

The exterior looks nice, if a bit fat. I think they are going the way Honda did with the rear, like how the old accord was ugly at first but then they fixed it. One big difference though, honda could afford making such a mistake.
