I'm gonna hold off till I see the car in person, cuz I must admit that I really hate the car with that disgusting Gray interior. I'd pay the extra cash just to get the LTZ interior!
Exactly GM's plan, lol.

I don't know what to say about this...the photos speak for themselves and its a subjective thing, I guess.

Let it stand at - If I had bought a 2007 Impala LT with the flex fuel 3500, flip & fold rear seating, bench seat and Imperial Blue paint to replace my Bonneville (as I almost did) instead of waiting for the 2008 Malibu, I wouldn't have regretted it after these photos.

I know a lot of guys here rabidly want to like this car, so I'll just kick back and read from here on out. No need to nitpick what's already done. Besides, someone's going to say "It's just a stopgap!" anyway.

I think I agree.

The Malibu to me is a good looking car, but I dont' get where so many people on here are saying it is a world beater, best-looking-in-class, hands down vehicle.

Here are some more pictures of the 08 Malibu interior.

So there you go... its better than Sebring and the Avenger. I've been in an 08 Sebring and a 07 Aura and the Aura trumps it in just about every way. The Malibu has a very similar interior.
Oh, those do look nice. They're also airbrushed and retouched (or likely computer generated) to the point of incredibility. Chrysler has some VERY nice looking pictures of the Sebring's interior...same deal though, airbrushed jobs.

So, I'm basing my views on actual photographs of actual cars, not of compromised interior mock-ups, such as the ones you posted.

I've seen the car in real life and up close (not on an autoshow stand) at the Indy 500. It was just a decent looking sedan with a passable interior.

Am I the only one that feels the bar going across the grill RUINS the car? Can anyone photoshop that?

I'm glad someone posted this, now I am mentally prepared for my next visit to Avis. :tired:

The exterior looks like a million bucks though -- especially the side profile.

is gm colorblind? why must every car havea grey interior, oh wait they hired a chrysler guy

There's another interior picture. It looks great with that color combination.
Let's hope it stays that dark outside for the life of your ownership. Those stock photos make even this configuration look horrible.

I sat in this car at an auto show. It is a sweet car that I finally would be happy to own. You guys are extremely pessimistic!!

I like the exterior. It doesn't scream Chevy so much, design wise, more like VW or maybe even Buick, but it's classy, and looks upmarket.

On the INSIDE however, I must admit I've never been a fan of the interior design. Colors do not make an interior, but they sure can break it. They got some nice color combos that look good, but the grey on grey HAS to go. But beyond colors, the design is NOT inspired. The current gen Accord is FAR better executed inside than this thing, let alone the next gen Accord. Even the Fusion which is now on its third model year, is a more harmonious, better executed design than this thing.

I'm pretty sure these are all computer renders and not acutal photographs.
More than likely they were just interior mockup, rather than the inside of a real car, or a computer rendering.

It's like the designers ran outta time and just gave up on the rear end...

Very nice pisctures. Makes the car look a lot better.

Still not a fan of the rear, though.

Agree with Watchdevil.... Malibu's design theme looks borrowed from the current Buick Lucerne. Maybe it should've been an entry Buick with a classier interior and portholes.

This may be a revolutionary design from the current Malibu, but only evolutionary against GM's other product.

Is this vehicle ready to take on the re-designed Honda Accord...?

It kind of looks like a shark.
That grey interior has got to go and they had better not use it on any ads.
I think the exterior looks better in light colors.

The reason I think its a render is that versions of the exact same picture have been floating around the web for years now. (Unfortunately I can't find it right now.)
