You better hope its styling is different to the Holden Trailblazer, that thing is butt ugly.

The update is pretty good-looking, it just has an ugly ass and a cartoonish DLO. I don't get how small or easily manipulated things can pass muster at GM design HQ.

Looks interesting, but could it be testing for a company sponsored Baja team?
There's an idea because it basically has no front or rear end, just the cab section and all the rest is tires and suspension. But then if that were it, why cover the thing in the black camo? Maybe to hide the chopped up mess or just make people like us wonder and speculate;).
I don't see why both couldn't be true. Build yourself some off-road cred by using your new ZR2-badged product (or your new GMC) or a facsimile as a Baja vehicle.

Didn't Ford do that with the new F-150?

You hit upon something here and could well work. I think I remember something like that with Ford a while back too.

It could be anything.

A product as described would be far ballsier than something I'd expect from Chevy. I hope I'm wrong.

Well...

Let's assume it IS a wrangler fighter kinda thing. Would it not make sense for GMC to get it?

GMC is starved for differentiation, plus Chevy gets the ZR2, not GMC. In a perfect world GMC would get a similar but distinct product to help spread costs. BUT, then we wonder what kind of cannibalization there would be between related, hardcore offroad products...

But yea, I'd love to see it wear GMC

I think it's pretty retarded, the Chevy-GMC setup that they have.

There are really two differentiating "alt" options for trucks: street and off-road.

Why does Chevrolet, with the Corvette and Camaro, not have "street" trucks like a modern SVT Lightning?

Why are you pushing the ALL TERRAIN trim (really just an appearance package) at GMC while Chevy is the only one with an off-road pickup and GMC is the one relatively famous for hot rod trucks like the Syclone and Typhoon?

Why don't you approach your brands with a bit more targeted consistency?

No, it wouldn't make any sense for GMC to get it if you actually mapped out each brand BUT GM has this notion in their head that if they use outdoorsy terms like Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, Canyon, Sierra, All Terrain, Denali, etc they'll compete with Jeep without actually investing any money into physically doing so.

One model will elevate the entire brand and make up for your lack of consistency across the board, it's really quite genius.

Not so sure we can draw this conclusion from the distant, grainy pictures of a half-assembled vehicle.

But, I like it ... leave it as-is. It will be more distinctive that way. Also, imagine how the aftermarket would embrace this! This vehicle currently needs everything.

I wish GM would bring out a Jeep/Bronco fighter. They could even revive the name Hummer as a model. If they still made Hummers I would probably still be buying them. If Ford does the Bronco right and GM rests on its laurels then I may buy my first non GM vehicle in 15 years, but I would rather it not come to that.

If GM doesn't bring back a Blazer/TB this may be on my list for my next vehicle. I wish they would build one based on the Colorado . I don't want a Traverse or acadia , have to tow with it and those are less than ideal for that purpose being FWd based. Yes I know you can get AWD .

I have read the opposite.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/news/a32394/2020-ford-bronco-solid-axles/

The Bronco returns in 2020. Speaking with R&T at the show, Ford Executive Vice President Joe Hinrichs vowed that the new Bronco will be a bona-fide off-roader, hinting that the upcoming SUV could be the first true competitor to the wildly successful Jeep Wrangler in many years.

And now, we've got further evidence supporting that claim: It sounds like the 2020 Bronco will offer solid axles front and rear.

As Larry Vellequette reports at Automotive News, axle manufacturer Dana revealed in an investor presentation this month that it's been chosen as the driveline supplier for both the 2019 Ford Ranger and the 2020 Bronco. In the presentation, Dana indicated that both vehicles will have "front and rear axles featuring our latest AdvanTEK gear technology," Vellequette writes.

I hope this turns out to be true. Also once again GM seems to be squandering the opportunity to be first on the scene and garner all the accolades. Why do they always seem to be so lily-livered and indecisive on things that could get them really good recognition?

Based on how long it is taking to get the ZR2 to market it should be 2022 before you see this truck! You will see it in pictures for 5 years before it is on the road!
