Camaroman22, please just post one thread in one spot in the future. Thanks.

The last picture looks like a Ridgeline was driven into a wall and the rear was shortened by someone following to close, lol. It's hideous whatever it is.

What i find strange is that its a "studebaker" by Avanti... Studebaker was a car brand, and they had a model called "Avanti". My father used to have a '57 Studebaker Golden Hawk, and always wanted to get an Avanti.

Far to old? Its From toyotas booth at Sema
So? It's not like everything at SEMA is brand new, and the Toyota Mega Cruiser is definately not a new design. I think it came out around '95-'96, and was produced for a few years, but I don't have specific information. It was out long before the H2, and is now out of production.

Were these only in Japan?. If they were to put it into production in the US. I would bet they would be sued faster than they can say hummer

Only in Japan, and if AM General could sue over that, Chrysler could sue over the HHR being too much like the PT. They're similar, but not THAT similar.

I remember GM suing them about this. It was on the Splash Page....it was a while a ago though. This is after a forced redesign. I really like it...it looks neat. I hope that Studebaker/Avanti does well and that they can get more cars/trucks to market. It's nice to see a small American company putting out something cool....I hope that they are very successful.

Yes...but Avanti began producing cars in 1965 and Studebaker stopped producing cars in 1966. The Studebaker name, as far as car production goes, went dormant for three and half decades before Avanti decided to revive it for the Studebaker XUV (the pictured vehicle).

I wish Avanti would make original vehicles, like they did until 1991. The "new" Avantis have been rebodied Firebirds or Mustangs. And the Studebaker XUV is just a rebodied Ford SuperDuty (modified from the original Excursion base).

The original design for the Studebaker XUV had rear sliding doors which, to me, made it unique (and, most likely, VERY expensive for such a small company to produce). The updated XUV has regular front-hinged doors.

If anyone's interested, the Avanti Motor Corporation was for sale the last I checked.
