It's got a superlative interior, an excellent ride, and a unique look that isn't shared with any other GM-family vehicle. Put simply: it's the superior car. At an as-tested price of $48,180, including destination charge, it's certainly not inexpensive, but we'd hazard a guess that it's as good or better an everyday machine than several competitors priced at or above its level. At Cadillac, the Escalade is the headliner, but the SRX is one of those opening acts that makes you think, "Gee, maybe that other guy should warm up for him instead."

I think a little more agressive front end to make the SRX look a little more tough and trucky would help, it has a bit of a tall station wagon look to it as it is now, that might hurt sales some.
The wife of a collegue was scheduled to take delivery of her SRX last week (picked out by her husband). When she saw it she said "Yikes! A station wagon???? No way. Wound up in a G35.smk4565 said:I think a little more agressive front end to make the SRX look a little more tough and trucky would help, it has a bit of a tall station wagon look to it as it is now, that might hurt sales some.
I always just open the rear door and stand on the sill to load my Thule, of course that opens to the side so it depends on what box you have. I've only stood on the bumper to install it.Hoosier Red said:Question: I really like these and would certainly consider it for a family hauler, but here's something I don't understand. How do you actually use the roof rack on these when there's no place to stand on the back bumper? We use a car top carrier for vacations and I'm always standing on the back bumper to load and unload the thing. Insights?
Where did the recent American prejudice against wagons come from? Was half the country traumatized in one as a child? You would think the snob appeal of BMW, Benz, Audi, Volvo, VW being the only ones available in this country would overcome it. If the Europeans love them, they have to be good, right?goatgary said:The wife of a collegue was scheduled to take delivery of her SRX last week (picked out by her husband). Few people own those, and giant tires almost universally look better than small ones.ral1960 said:Where did the recent American prejudice against wagons come from? I gather the minivan stigma is a macho thing. I predict a backlash against SUV's and giant wheels with rubber band tires. Bring back 14" wheels and wide whitewalls!

What does SRX4 mean? 4 means?
Silverado wins, SRX doesn't. Mercedes GLwhatever is the best luxury SUV. I was suprised. Considering how much C/D loved the SRX I thought they would love it even more now but I guess not. At least the Tundra didn't win best pick-up.asim said:I can't wait for Cadillac to have it's BEST 5 trucks. If things go the way it should, the Silverado/Sierra and the SRX should win. Of course if the SRX wins, it'll be the 4th time in a row.
