Don't be sorry. I'm a Chicago native and worked in the city's food industry for 30+ years, which I very much enjoyed. But it's true that Chicago boosters tend to be a very boastful bunch.

As a food science student, I'll affirm that molecular gastronomy is a legitimate discipline within food science. However, the blanket use of that phrase by popular media, especially in the context of Grant Achatz and Alinea, debases it IMO. The seminal works in the field of molecular gastronomy, The Hows and Whys of Cooking and Food Chemistry and Cookery by Halliday and Noble, were written long before the media made a stir about the subject.

On the other hand (and back on topic), the technical excellence of third generation Cadillac CTS is NOT overrated. ;)
Molecular gastronomy is a joke. On the other hand, overall, Chicago crushes Detroit in dozens of ways, including the food scene. I spent a few years living in Detroit and couldn't get out of that semi-backwater fast enough. In Chicago now and never looked back. Not from either city so no bias.

I think the issue on the CTS V-sport was trying to have as less unsprung weight as possible to enhance handing.
It's supposed to improve braking and I'm not sure, but I believe acceleration, as well. Again, that's an engineering thing.

If Cadillac is going for design, the engineers have to lose those battles or larger wheels need to be offered.

If you can't find good food in Chicago, you are either brain dead, in a coma or a pretentious snob.

That is all. ;)

So you're one of those people? Your neighbors didn't shovel, so you won't?

Our grass, come summer, is beautiful, lush, and greener than a golf course. We're the only people in the neighborhood who have someone come to check our grass... everyday. And we pay for it. And it shows. Why do we do it? Besides a borderline compulsion with keeping the grass green... self-respect.
I got mine all cleaned-up this morning! :yup:

I keep my lawn lookin' good too! :yup;

Because you should care about your outward appearance.
I especially like this comment, just don't tell me you wear flip-flops in public, otherwise you'll ruin it for me. (at the beach or related is OK)

;)

I don't even own a pair of flip-flops. Seriously. The closest thing I own is a pair of Sanuks.

Exposed toed shoes are for women, girly men, and children who grow up to be girly men.

Flip-flops are gross. I don't understand how people buy them.
Seriously?? I have about 7-8 pairs.
Then again, I'm in California, where wearing flip flops as casual wear on a nice day with a pair of jeans or shorts is de rigeur.

I've got my gym flip flops (Reef), beach flip flops (Reef and Speedo), my nicer day-to-day flip flops (Reef), and my ultra high-end flip flops for "resort wear" (John Varvatos and Ferragamo). :p:

They range from $9.99 - $150.

And I own only one pair of proper jeans.
HUH? How is that possible?

LOL if you wear flip flops here right now, they'll need to amputate your legs. It's beyond freezing.

You like John Varvatos?

I don't fit John Varvatos clothes properly; however, I do love the look of the brand. The footwear is awesome!

Like I said, it's a California thing. There's a time and place for flip flops. I don't wear them often, and only if the weather extends past 75F anyways. Plus when I go to the beach or some outdoor parties or even a stroll through Napa, flip flops fit the bill,

But there are "nice flip flops" and "absolute trashy flip flops."

Gotcha. I'll be checking his stuff out when they open up his store in Downtown Detroit later this year. I have wide feet; are his footwear comfortable for that?
