Irony? The picture in the Zephyr snippet is the concept, which was an absolutely fantastic looking car. Had Lincoln built that model rather than the much more mundane production model that we actually received, the Zephyr would have been a very difficult car to forget.

Something must be wrong with me because seven of those vehicles appealed to me in some way or other. Not that I bought them or anything.

I still have a soft spot for the Aspen. I just saw one the other day in vanilla. Sure caught my eye.

I would agree. The only two for me would be the Borrego and the 200SX. Did a road trip to Chicago from Detroit and back in an Aspen and I thought it was great. Oh that V8 was snarly and rude! I loved it!

We practically bought a Five Hundred with the 2005 Freestyle for my wife. If the Five Hundred was forgettable how come the Passat that it cloned was not?

The design was uninspired, the name was peculiar, and they changed the name midway in. You know a company knows what they're doing when they change the name of the same product midway in.

Almost as bad as the Pontiac Cobalt rebadge. In Canada it was first called the "Pursuit", but when they launched it in the US they called it the "G5", so in Canada for a short time it became the "G5 Pursuit" and then eventually just "G5". Regardless of the name it was just a Cobalt with the grill plate swapped.

The Saturn L-Series wasn't necessarily bland as it was cheap and had a number of quality issues. Early Ecotec engine timing chains, electrical issues, suspension/alignment quirks. After a couple years they weren't so bad but the design didn't age well, especially given everyone else had redesigned their midsize sedans in '02/03.

I actually recently drove a Sentra of that era equivalent to the 200SX. Yeah, didn't really leave an impression. Might have been interesting in SE-R trim with the SR20 engine, but the most boring looking of the '90s small coupes.

This Infiniti M was probably more quickly forgotten:

Don't think anyone's really forgotten about the Forenza yet - they seem to have moved a good bit of them since they were cheap. The Reno hatchback equivalent though, that's all but forgotten. Probably the Verona sedan was more easily forgotten than either:

(So wait, do we count this as a predecessor of the new Malibu now? )

Forgettable not just for styling (even if they didn't really put that in the list). Passat was well-received by the media when it came out. Five Hundred with the same old Duratec V6 didn't stand a chance against the also-new Chrysler 300...

That said I did really like the Five Hundred and its equivalents for all the space inside. The '08 Taurus was odd looking; the '10 looked good but lost that spacious feeling.

"80% of everything they every built" being forgettable applies to almost every manufacturer.

Lexus

HS 250h - no brainer
Your only choice with meat on its bones.

I don't think so.

LS 600h L
Still going, now has the title of world's quietest luxury sedan.

GS series 1st gen
Clublexus forums disagree with you. Very popular among younger people in the used car market.

SCs......... including the 'bug'
The first gen SC was a landmark product and one of the best Lexus ever made. Its design was frequently copied, and the car is still very popular among younger people. The SC subsection on Clublexus alone is half the size of all of GMI.

As much as you hate these cars (well I bet you've never even sat in one, it's probably just the L), old Lexuses will never be forgotten. Their reliability, luxury, and ease of modification makes them popular among younger people buying used. This applies to any current Lexus model 10 years from now. You think people are going to be buying twin power turbo 535is with 100000 miles on them?

Man, I forgot about the Zephyr, and man that dissapoints me. I mean the car's design is at least 8 or more years old, yet it can still looks very modern and slick, and with possibly the best car name of all-time, I am ultimately disappointed in my foolishness.

If this list is supposed to be about the 10 most forgettable "cars", then why are there trucks on the list (Chrysler Aspen, Kia Borrego)??? I have to admit, the Infiniti M45 must have been a real flop....I have never heard of it until I read this list!

Seems we have a stellar discussion of - why the list missed so much Toyota product.

And....... the 'ole truism of

- an ass for every seat, and a seat for every ass - yes ?

Have you chased down the Edsel clubs of late - and compared ?

Lol "Lexuses from the 90s should be on this list! So should the Toyota Tercel!"

No **** sherlock. So should almost every other car from the 90s. Why is there such a lack of 90s Audis on this list, it must be a VAG conspiracy article.

1. ) Well, very clearly........ they do need all kinds of help - to keep them running.
Just for the record, since I own a clean 92, the reliability record of this car is nearly spotless. Most common problem seems to be with the gauge lights (fingers crossed), no major engine or other issues. And not to name names, but the competition didn't hold up quite as well.

Can't stand Clublexus though - they're the guys ruining these cars with dubious power mods and gross-looking wheels & spoilers.

AGREED!! Absolutely despise when people do that to good cars. Leave it stock or buy another car.

The vehicles in this list are pretty common. Why didn't they write about like the Silverado mild hybrid, or Accord V6 hybrid, or Mitsubishi Diamante wagon? Or 2011 Saab 9-5 or 9-6? Or Saturn Astra?
