3800 series II Lifter Count?

Okay guys. I was planning on swapping the old lifters in my Olds 88 LS because one or more of them are making a tapping sound. Before I order the parts I was wondering if anybody can tell me how many lifters the engine uses? I sort of forgot.

I believe its 12, one for each pushrod.

I gotta get rid of this tapping sound. I tried flushing the engine with Sea Foam but that didn't fix it. I'm thinking that one or more of the lifters are collapsed. That's what the tapping sound is coming from.

Doesn't the 3800 have adjustable lifters (lash) like the Chevy v-8s?

No I'm almost sure they're hydraulic.

The lifters are hydraulic.

GM (Chevy) small block V-8s have adjustable hydraulic lifters.

No idea if the v-6s, Northstar, OHCs etc. lifters are adjustable.
