overall I think the Malibu is a decent car.

Fleets exist. Some companies need them. Rental cars exist. When people drive a fleet or rental car, I'd prefer to see them in a Chevrolet. Build them well and maybe the drivers will be impressed enough to consider a Chevy of their own, perhaps even a Malibu.

Chevy Malibu, as Car and Driver once said, is "the car for folks who prefer not to think about cars". Super easy to use controls, no vile (or sparkling) habits in everyday operation, and a "perfect 10 on the Bland-O-Meter".

No wonder it's such a popular choice for fleet customers.

Agree with some of what C&D says. It is a good car for people who aren't into cars. Which is the vast majority of drivers. Easy to drive, practical. No surprises or hassles.

I don't really agree about the "Bland-O-Meter" comment. I think it's an attractively styled vehicle. Although i thought it looked better at launch that after the refresh.
