2021 Buick Envision Starting Price $32,995
Above Average: All-new for 2021; good safety features; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Below Average: Lacks standard blind-spot warning and rear-cross traffic alert; no hybrid.
Consensus: Based on the same chassis as the Cadillac XT4 crossover, the 2021 Buick Envision is all-new this year. As such, it gets a longer wheelbase and is slightly wider than it was in 2020. With three different trim levels available, including a new top-of-the-line Avenir model, the Envision offers refined American luxury that impresses.
2021 Lincoln Corsair Starting Price $36,940
Above Average: Compact but luxurious; good looking and quiet; choice of two turbocharged engines; available new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model.
Below Average: Rather plain digital instrument panel, high-zoot models can leap above $60,000.
Consensus: Relatively unchanged entering its second year, the Corsair gets the addition of a luxurious all-wheel drive (AWD) PHEV model, which was originally scheduled for summer 2020. The 2.5-liter engine gets a 14-kW lithium-ion battery and an electric motor that powers the hybrid for an EPA-estimated electric range of 28 miles.
