GM biggest screw up with this XT6 was not making the 3.6L TT an option on it, that would sperate it from the Traverse and Enclave and it could compete with the Aviator.

I dont see any reason to spend what Caddilac wants on this XT6 for the price they want over a loaded Traverse or Enclave. If anything the XT6 is what the Traverse or Enclave could have been refinement wise, if GM put in more effort.

I don't think anyone is complaining about the refinement of the XT6.

I do agree on engine upgrade - a 3.0TT should be offered at least on the sport model or something.

How is that any different from the Traverse and Tahoe/Suburban or the Enclave from the Yukon/Yukon XL (Buick stores usually being tied to a GMC dealership or a Chevy)?

Plus luxury CUV buyers tend to want to go for a BoF SUV.

Escalade is a prestige product one of only 2 GM has left It has to be protected...Take me for example, I probably could've popped for an extra 10 grand and bought a Yukon SLT, but I didn't because the Enclave was way cheaper when similarly equipped... that is what Cadillac needed to avoid happening to the 'Slade which is why I think the size of the XT6 was scaled back.

or...say it with me, GM took the cheap route yet again. Does the front passenger side window at least have express up? Mine doesn't. I find it odd that my $41K crossover doesn't have that but my 13 year old station wagon does. Kinda have to use a klingon death grip to roll all the windows up at the same time.

It might be a different market, but GM isn't willing to take that chance to find out. Hell a review for the XT6 mentioned the 3rd row of that being more comfortable than the Escalade's, imagine what 8 extra inches of WB would do. Buyers will then walk into a Caddy dealership and see a 120" WB XT6 sitting right next to the similarly sized 'Slade at a $15-20k discount...which is nothing to sneeze at, that would create all kinds of problems for GM.

exactly, even those loved so much by Americans because of their 'status' and foreign badge. Many first gen. Cayennes are either already scrapped in Europe or abandoned as they are too expensive to maintain.

Escalade is a status symbol because nothing within its lineup came close to it in terms of size and appointments, and maybe some brand recognition. But a huge XT6 would offer damn near what it offers in size and appointments at a lower price...do you think some buyers will take the XT6 over the 'Slade?

It kind of goes back to the whole XTS vs CT6 dilemma, the XTS was similar in size but way less expensive, I'd bet a good chunk of money that the XTS outsold the CT6 and probably took a few lower end sales from the CT6. Are you cool with having that happen to the Escalade?

I'd add the CT6-V to that list of "status" Caddies. I'd buy one tomorrow if I had the $$$.

If I had the $$$ I'd just lease the real deal...the S63. I wouldn't consider the CT6 a status Cadillac because hardly no one knows what it is...it has to actually have a status before it's considered a status.

Its funny because it's so true...most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an XTS and a CT6...It really is a shame because if you knew the difference, you'd be in for a treat if you paid attention when one rolled by...it truly is a stately looking automobile. The interior is another story for another day, but the exterior was damn near perfect for a Large RWD based Luxury Cadillac.

Most depressing part of all this is that the CT6 could've sold so much more had GM just let go of the past and nixed the XTS when the CT6 was introduced.
