We were strongly considering the High Country trim. Luckily we took it on an extended 2 night test drive. The issues we found were:
1. Wind noise/air leak from the windshield on passenger side. (Confirmed by dealer. They are going to replace the windshield to see if that fixes it)
2. Metallic sounding rattle from both rear passenger doors.
3. Constant rattle from plastic sunroof shade latches. They are cheap plastic attached to cheap plastic they are going to rattle. (We have driven three others all have this same rattle)
4. Start stop feature can not be disabled and the conditions in which it engages seem a bit unpredictable.
5. On a hot day the cooling fans were so loud they could be heard over the radio at a stop light. (Might be normal but seemed very loud to us)
6. Adaptive cruise control and forward automatic braking are only available on the High Country trim. These features are not available on any other trim even with a package. Other brands offer this on much lower trims for up to 10K less.
7.Sluggish acceleration on a hot day. For the horse power engine seems to have very low torque.
8. PRICE!!! With supplier discount this thing was right at 50K!!!

Needless to say we canceled the deal. We have 3 kids so the Traverse really fits. I know most of these issues are first year model growing pains, but for 50K....I think I will forego the beta test. Cheers!! :)

Thanks for your review, rsnowdern. Your experience confirms that from a quality perspective, it's best to wait until at least the second model year to consider a new Traverse. Buying a completely redesigned GM vehicle in its first model year isn't for the faint of heart.

Moreso considering the previous generation Traverse really didn't get it's issues sorted out until about '12, and the first year '09s are a particularly bad year.
