The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD has been a work in progress for at least a few years. It began with redoing everything under the skin: frame, suspension, the bones of the truck. Then, for 2014,Chevrolet redesigned everything else: exterior, interior, and drivetrains. We got our first taste of these changes at last year's Truck of the Year competition. For 2015, Chevrolet has applied all the changes it made to the ½-ton truck to its Heavy Duty line. The most notable and welcome change with the Silverado HD is the same as in the 1/2-ton: the interior. Everything about the interior is leaps and bounds better than the last generation Silverado's. Material quality is top notch and incredibly comfortable. Those hard, flat seats are long gone, replaced with seats that are more than up to any long haul. The dash and center stack changes made in 2014 carry over to the 2015 HD. The big 8-inch screen with MyLink and IntelliLink not only looks great, but also is very user-friendly. And Chevrolet didn't address only the things you can see and touch in the interior; it also worked on what you hear, or in this case, what you don't hear. The interior of the Silverado is probably one of, if not the quietest I have ever experienced in a truck. Chevrolet accomplished this by using triple-sealed, inlaid doors and hydraulic body mounts.
