DETROIT -- The Cadillac SRX crossover, critically acclaimed for its innovative design in one of the industry’s hottest new segments, now borrows a page from Cadillac’s rich and elegant past. The 2007 SRX, launching in August, debuts a redesigned, hand-crafted luxury interior, bringing elegant Cadillac tradition into the modern world of the crossover vehicle.
The new SRX cabin utilizes Cadillac’s new “cut-and-sew” interior process that combines advanced technology with the hand-rendered precision of expert craftsmen. Coverings for components such as the instrument panel, center console and door trim are cut, sewn and wrapped mostly by hand. This enables details such as decorative French stitching, and the near elimination of gaps and seams for a superbly tailored appearance. This is the same painstaking process applied to Cadillac’s limited-production STS-V and XLR-V models, bringing old-world craftsmanship into the heart of the luxury marketplace.
“The SRX is the latest and most complete example of our new approach to interiors, blending advanced technology with the hand craftsmanship that was once, and is again becoming, a Cadillac trademark,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. “This new interior adds to SRX’s compelling package of design, performance, luxury and value, within the practicality of a crossover vehicle.”

Wow, had heard it was getting a revised interior, but had no idea they were stepping it up to the next level. Sweet! :) Have always loved the exterior...still looks great. :)

 Whoa! That interior is hot, I never really appreciated it when it was dark and a spy pic. Now that's a class leading interior!

PS - I dont like the sport package rims.

I'm noticing that GM's newer vehicles' (07 SRX/07 Acadia) navigations and radios are tighter around the edges and seems integrated at first. You're not seeing gaps or radios that are out of place, which is good.

The exterior looks pretty much the same to me... it might have a revised front bumper, though. Not a significant exterior update from what I can see.

The interior is nice. It doesn't look modern and high-tech enough though for a brand that with a design theme called "Art and Science." I mean, the Camry's interior looks more high-tech and futuristic than the SRX's interior.

Wow!!!! I'm can't believe how much better that looks than the previous models. That's absolutely amazing...If that new interior is signs of what Cadillac is putting in the upcoming CTS and other models their going to have world class pezazz!!!(i don't think that is spelt right :) ) Anyways, lookds wonderful and can't wait to see what GM has instore for us next!!

Take that MERCEDES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN UR face
Haha. I don't think Mercedes is going home running scared soon. The Mercedes-Benz ML is a very competent vehicle and a highly-regarded luxury SUV all over the world.

Try traveling outside North America... not many people in other countries know what Cadillac is, let alone the n00bie SRX. Mercedes-Benz is a completely different story.

One thing that I have never cared for is the look of the steering wheel. Looks to cut up or straight. Not smooth enough. Does anyone else think so?

I think it's the other way around. The interior is too smooth. The steering wheel's styling direction follows the car's Art and Science exterior, but the rest of the interior doesn't.

The interior doesn't look Cadillac-like. Looks kind of like a Japanese car. Looks nice, aside from the Mercury looking wood. I prefer the Escalade interior, it looks more American.
It shouldn't look Japanese, when it was designed by a German company.

The wood looks a lot like BMW wood.
