If the proper engine is used this car will be wicked. Im sure dealership ADM’s will be very high unfortunately.

Do we have any reason to believe GM is really going to produce this supposed Z/28 given actual production ends Jan 2024?
I doubt it will happen to be honest. GM usually lets things rot until no one buys them and they wither away showing how much they really care about their customers or legacy of GM’s iconic names.

It would be cool though.

Nope...

Even the LT2 was just a repackaging of the LT1 for mid-engine. That let them do longer intake runners and other things to take advantage of the available space, and they changed the block for the dry sump as well, iirc. The LT2 in a FE car is the LT1...

That said there's been rumors of a CPC DOHC version of the LT6 that would be what the Gen 6 V8s are, in the 600 HP range. That would be a hell of a Camaro send off, but seems unlikely they'd go through the trouble of getting a Gen 6 small block in the Camaro.
That would be a proper send off. I doubt it will happen but they should do it because the Camaro deserves it.

Dodge did a proper send off of 3300 Challengers with an engine that’s unique to those 3300 cars only. There’s no real excuses from Chevy other than laziness and the appallingly lack of care about curating a legendary name.
