But last week I brought my Wave in for a fix. I have no idea what causes this but initially I believed it to be a fuse, now it sounds more like a short of some kind. But yeah, my A/C and nearly all electrics (except the basic stuff (radio, lights etc.) simply died. So I brought it in Thursday and they fixed it (after waiting a week for the part). Two days later, it all dies again (oddly enough, it always dies the moment one of my parents touches the car, lol). I think it has to do with the A/C, I've never heard an A/C unit start up so loudly in any car (it also renders acceleration nearly impossible with a driver and a passenger aboard, something it didn't do earlier last year) before, and my electrics always die a day or two after I turn it on (weather's been pretty f'ed up lately here, so I don't always need it, and usually I'd rather use my sunroof, as it's more economical (it brings in fresh air without using fuel or busting my aerodynamics).

This car is problem-ridden, I swear. Earlier this year the passenger airbag sensor wasn't even working properly, then after the winter passed I started noticing poor fit on the grille, and my front bumper cracked in an impossible matter. I could go on and on, but I won't (paint coming off the pointless spoiler, irregularities over that same paint (bumps for one, what the hell), things like that). >_> I just wish I could lemon-law it, but unfortunately we have no such law here, just some sort of program with the automakers. You buy a new car to rid yourself of your old car's problems, and you get just as many problems, except they're not drive-train related (thankfully... Although the transmission's been acting up lately and shifting's never been this easy before).

I wants me an Astra. =(

It doesn't sound too lemon-lawwy anyway... I mean if your engine broke 4 times ;)

What is electric that isn't radio and lights etc? Maybe when you run the A/C the condensation isn't draining (ie there is some leaves stuck in the drain) and instead is going into some electric thing.

has there been any testing of the alternator at all? the AC would put an added load on to the electrical system but if the alternator doesn't work properly the car won't function because there is too much electrical load for the car to handle.

A/C, sunroof, mirrors and external electric heating (mirrors again and rear window), oh, and I can't re-use internal air, but I don't know why the hell I'd do that without A/C.

Alternator makes sense, if I've got any time left tomorrow I'll schedule something for next week. This car's my job and GM won't lend me a car because of my age (yet for whatever reason, their bodywork garage lent me a Camry >_>).

Not lemon-lawwy? Well yeah, the powertrain's keeping up, although as I (believe I) said, I fear the transmission might snap sometime in the near feature, it's been acting strangely lately, like my old Escort's before it did.

My rear suspension squeaks like hell all the time, my front driver door speaker's blown for no reason, my front bumper cracked at a place where it couldn't possibly due to an accident (haven't had a frontal one anyway, nor it a curb or a parking... Stoop?). My front driver door's rusting, the rubber piece surrounding the grille's coming off, I had problems with my locks, transmission locks into a gear sometimes after I take off (and the engine's warm, I'm aware of this happening to warm up the engine during the Winter, no worries), passenger airbag sensor sometimes doesn't feel a passenger (and I'm not talking about a kid, it happens when my mother's riding in the car, and she weighs more than my girlfriend), windshield washer nozzle isn't affixed properly (nitpick, but seriously >_>)... Meh.

I love the front of the new Wave hatch, by the way. I just wish they would've given it the new family-styled rear lamps rather than the Chevy's.

I mean, they bothered using different taillamps for the Wave sedan, why not the hatch's revision?
