That's exactly where Gen2 Volt landed.IMO, 60-80 miles is more like it. Then it will be "mostly EV" in all current and future conditions.

Buick said:Buick is proud to announce a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Hello Sunshine, the media company founded by Reese Witherspoon that’s changing the narrative for women.
Dear Gawdddd-uhh, help us all!!Buick could always take this approach:

Reese has put on a bit of weight laterly. And what's wrong with her feets? Looks like she could use an alignment.^^^ No, I hadn't seen that before now. Good grief even.
They didn't get quite that high... 53 miles. That's exactly where Gen2 Volt landed.
My daughter's 2017 Volt achieved a best of 72 miles on EV in optimal conditions. In summer it's easy to be consistently in the 60's but winter can drop as low as upper 30's with heat/defrost.They didn't get quite that high... 53 miles.
In very cold weather they can lose quite a bit of range, so double the original would be perfect.
The engine will still run some to provide heat, but less is better.

The best I ever achieved with my Gen1 Volt was 42 miles. What's the best on your ELR?
Buick needs to get away from the hockey stick roof styling that every car company has used over the last 25 years. Neo-retro styling from the 60s Buick Rivera is in order. Formal roofs need to make a comeback.Honestly? That's just not enough anymore.
You can get "curves and art" in substantially better cars than Buick.
They simply need to build a better car. It doesn't need to be seen as "value" anything. It just needs to be seen as a "Buick." That's the only way it survives adjacent to Cadillac.
Flip side of that is... Cadillac needs to be more than just "edges and angles" as well.
I think GM is afraid of Buick and Cadillac crossing swords. And if they're afraid of that, that just means GM has been unable to define what a Buick and Cadillac actually is in their internal product vision and roadmaps. And that's a problem.

J.D. Power awards are a industry joke. Dealers give the customer's incentives to fill out the survey within 30 days after purchase. Just how many lemons are discovered within the first 30 days?
I think the XT4 is a closer comparison with Envision. No Buick near match of XT5. No Caddy version of Encore GX.So in my mind I was thinking Buick is a lot closer to Chevy than Cadillac so I did some pricing out on each car companies website and that pretty much confirmed it for me. Kind of eye opening how close Buick and Chevy are and how big the gap is between Buick and Cadillac.

How would you properly bean-count margins into an EREV or PHEV? People mentioned dislike for a 3 cyl., but they would cost less. Or does Buick have untapped upside price power?34 miles.
There was a software update a few years ago that lowered range to extend battery life.
Most 2014 ELRs get around mid-20's electric range these days.
That's still better than most current PHEVs.
Voltec likes regen situations a lot. 80 mph down the Interstate, not so much.
Greg, that is exactly what I was going to say! Bring back the Buick Riviera! Can brands live on that alone? Maybe a Riviera?
Yup. The "Buick exclusive" Reese's Book Club in-vehicle app is indeed very sexist and exclusionary. But overall it's not as egregious as the "Audacity" campaign over at Cadillac:A very sexist and exclusionary promotion.

I have a feeling this thing is going to sell pretty well - depending on price of course. Has some of the benefits of a crossover and some of the benefits of a sedan. I could see a market for this. The 2024 Envista is coming pretty soon, so the “crossover coupe” thing is coming to Buick. Gotta say they all look hideous so far IMO, looking at you BMW X6.

2024 Buick Envista: What We Know So Far
Buick’s latest Chinese offering—the Envista—has been greenlit for the North American market and the coupe-like SUV should arrive with value-oriented pricing.www.caranddriver.com
A Nissan dealership salesman actually offered me $50 off my vehicle just to answer the survey. Come to find out later the dealership management was a little shady and the business was sold a few years later.Actually, many if not most "lemons" with true issues due to manufacturing defects are discovered nearly immediately after or even before delivery. If something is genuinely made wrong, it will have been wrong from day one. I remember my father purchased a 2001 Buick Rendezvous and had the transmission fail on the way home from the dealership; clearly that was a manufacturing defect...
One of my first jobs during college was actually administering JD Powers initial quality surveys for Jaguar / Land Rover owners. These were telephone based surveys performed roughly a month or two after purchase with nearly every Jag/Land buyer. If the vehicles had issues (we're talking mid 2000s Jaguars...), they were pretty apparent from day one. New car buyer's are usually hyper-sensitive to anything on the vehicle that "doesn't seem right" as they haven't yet developed any trust with the vehicle, and are still fighting the sub-conscious struggle of buyer's remorse. Once a buyer "gets used" to a vehicle, it becomes much easier for them to overlook any strange noises or performance inadequacies as "just the way the car is". Initial quality is a great indicator of the true manufacturing quality of the OEM automaker.
On the other hand, long-term reliability is really more of a study of the engineering specifications created by GM that suppliers developed and built their individual components too.
I can assure you, that these JD Power surveys (phone based with a live interviewer) are indeed legitimate, and any and all comments are recorded and notated. Its not as simple as a salesman trying to tell their customers to "give us all 10s". In fact, people who had any sort of issues with the vehicle or buying experience were even more likely to provide overly-detailed and drawn out responses to the open ended questions.
