Anyone planning on going to the Woodward Dream Cruise? Officially it is Saturday but it's been going strong all week. Today GM set up shop in Royal Oak at Athens Coney Island, as they do each year. This year they had several new ZR1's. By the way, the Royal Oak ZR1 police cars are donated to them for the week..obviously. It's a really amazing site to see on Saturday. It has become really commercialized and many of the locals hate it because of the sheer amount of people out there all week. But I can't believe this is the 14th year. I remember my friends and I sitting in traffic back in 98 and it was so jammed up a buddy got out of my car, went over to the side of the road, was able to order a pizza, and still get back to the car. Come Saturday it's virtually impossible to move in the Royal Oak area, which is the epicenter of the cruise, at Duggans Irish Pub. I guess if you are not from Michigan you probably won't recognize some of these landmarks but maybe you will if you have been to the cruise before. If there are any Pontiac fans be sure to stop in downtown Pontiac on the north end of the cruise. There is a good showing of Pontiacs there at the Phoneix Center. Jim Wagners usually has his 69 Judge out there. Anyway....something good for Detroit and Michigan each year.
