A lot of people who preordered GTO’s have been voicing complaints about how slow GM has been to deliver their cars. This is understandable, as everyone wants to be the first in their area to own a GTO, and it is hard to wait when you order a car anyway. This week I took these complaints to Pontiac’s reps at GM Headquarters and got to the bottom of the situation.

Importing cars is common in today’s auto industry; so common few realize how complex the logistics involved are. That being said, there are several factors slowing the process that leads finished GTO’s to their awaiting owners. First off, though GM is a huge company, this is the first time that GM has really ever imported a car to the west coast (San Diego). Full Article

I was at the Barrett-jackson auction in Scottsdale last Friday. A California dealer had a new GTO there to sell which seemed very odd to me. Anyway, it was next to an original Goat.

And now I'm supposed to feel sorry for GM? I'm sure these fella's did their homework on importing $600 Million dollars worth of assets. I wouldn't want to think that they dropped the ball on our Pontiac halo car. It's not like anyone's really watching to see if you've turned the proverbially corner or anything. I'm sure you delivered due diligence and spent time commensurate to what the car represents for GM and Pontiac. Oh, piss on 'em anyway! It's only 18,000 customers.

I work in Clinton Twp. Michigan. There's ten GTO's at the Pontiac dealer where I work. We got our first official GTO in the begining of January. We will probably have 20 by next week. We have every color, including purple. I drove a black automatic over the weekend.

I have personally seen 2 already a 2 different Pontiac dealerships..both were during "after hours" excursions on to the property. Very nice. 1 black with the red interior and another silver with black interior.

Note: I am pretty darn far south in the US, so the GTO's are getting around.
