Now that we've seen it, where should GM price it?
And? The M3 starts under that. They need to undercut them by a slight amount.Oh come on. Gotta be realistic here. The current CTS-V Sedan is $65,000!!
Problem is your expected MSRP is too low. The CTS-V is at $65,000 already. Is this not what the imports do, they give you this MSRP which is so low that there is not a single car on their lots at that price.. because everything has options..
Anyways De nysschen knows how to play the game, lets see how he structures it.
Doesn't matter. No one's going to stock a basic ATS-V either.Ever try and find a $62k BMW M3/4.........reality is $75k+...
Cadillac doesn't have to undercut anything. And? The M3 starts under that. They need to undercut them by a slight amount.
Are you saying that it should be more or less than the current CTS-V?Oh come on. Gotta be realistic here. The current CTS-V Sedan is $65,000!!
I'm saying the ATS-V should be priced where the CTS-V left off.Are you saying that it should be more or less than the current CTS-V?
It's good to undercut. CTS is cheaper than the 5. Be competitively priced, but give people a reason to buy your car other than raw performance.Cadillac doesn't have to undercut anything.
An RS5 starts at $71,000.
ATS-V is a smaller car, less powerful, and is a cheaper nameplate than CTS-V.I'm saying the ATS-V should be priced where the CTS-V left off.
CTS-V itself will most likely be price at the $85,000+ segment.
I'm expecting a loaded CTS-V to be $100k max, but more likely $90k. I don't think it'll be $90k base like an M5.I'm saying the ATS-V should be priced where the CTS-V left off.
CTS-V itself will most likely be price at the $85,000+ segment.
Yeah, but the Gen 2 CTS-V is bad assier then the upcoming ATS-V.I'm saying the ATS-V should be priced where the CTS-V left off.
CTS-V itself will most likely be price at the $85,000+ segment.
The thing is though, based on existing reality, the CTS V is going to totally kill off the M5, its not even going to be a contestI'm expecting a loaded CTS-V to be $100k max, but more likely $90k. I don't think it'll be $90k base like an M5.
This generation, yes. The next M5 is going to be one tough mother****er. Same with the E63.The thing is though, based on existing reality, the CTS V is going to totally kill off the M5, its not even going to be a contest
All 3 CTS-V variants were priced the same, coupe, sedan and wagon also.Problem is your expected MSRP is too low. The CTS-V is at $65,000 already.
I'm thinking they might cut options to reduce the base model's weight. All 3 CTS-V variants were priced the same, coupe, sedan and wagon also.
The current CTS-V came pretty much loaded so a "base" ATS-V should be below $65K BUT allow people to option it higher if they want to.
I liked that actually. There was a level of head scratching because they normally cost different amounts, but having the -V series share pricing was sorta awesome. All 3 CTS-V variants were priced the same, coupe, sedan and wagon also.
That's likely, honestly. Especially after comments like :I'm thinking they might cut options to reduce the base model's weight.
But I still don't see it being a "stripper" on base trim - I have noticed that the ATS-V models shown have been sans light up door handles and front fog lights - I'd think the mules going to the car shows would be loaded to the gills, so who knows. The ATS engineering team had a "gram strategy" from day 1 that got a second round late in development - I'm certain they're sweating grams on the ATS-V to get its weight as low as possible. If they could undercut the M3 by even a pound that'd be magazine cred.Jalopnik said:...while a Track Package adds the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder, a smaller battery, along with nixing the floor mats and tire inflator to shed around 30 pounds...
And that there is the beauty of that strategy, UPSELL!Ever try and find a $62k BMW M3/4.........reality is $75k+...
A loaded CTS-V should top out at ~$100-110,000 easy!! Base E63 is $93,000, similar to M5. E63 Wagon exceeds $115,000.I'm expecting a loaded CTS-V to be $100k max, but more likely $90k. I don't think it'll be $90k base like an M5.
Literally needs to price cts v at least TEN PERCENT LESS THAN BMW M SERIES TO SUCCEED.A loaded CTS-V should top out at ~$100-110,000 easy!! Base E63 is $93,000, similar to M5. E63 Wagon exceeds $115,000.
$85,000 for CTS-V would be an acceptable MSRP.
