What is you number one Car movie?Mine is "Gone in 60 seconds"

ronin. it was fantastic seeing those big powerful european sedans being driven so hard. and the sounds they made... i'd buy a soundtrack of the engines alone.

i loved seeing the grand am in lethal weapon 4 too. it was before the model was released, and had some great shots of the car. it was awesome to see it going head to head with a big mercedes.

I liked some of the elements of Gone in Sixty Seconds, but overall the movie isn't on any of my must-see lists.

The main thing that ruined it was the absolutely horrible final jump scene which was way too unrealistic.

That, and the fact they showed tons of nice cars but didn't drive them at all.

All the thefts were too easy. Not enough conflict in the movie. I know they are pros, but still

Favorite car chase in a movie would have to be Ronin.

Yes okay it might be ford cars but the chase scenes are incredible. Like the end where James Bond is chasing the villian in his Aston Martin in this castle of ice. B)

I think the one was a Audi A8 and very nice car at that

I preffer the car chases in the orginal 1974 Gone in 60 seconds to the newer version, though the acting in the 1974 movie is bad, the 45 minute car chase at the end is great, plus lots of vintage iron.


The Blues Brothers(1980) is a great car chase movie, they wreck so many police cars, it makes you feel guilty.


Ronin is an awsome car chase movie, though it does lose some points for using some digitaly added smoke when the Mercedes 6.9 sedan makes reverse 180.


Bullitt(1968) in my opinion is still the best of them all.

This is a self preservation society (or so the theme of the movie says, anyway) so I'll go with the Original 1969 "The Italian Job". It had Ferraris, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, Austins, Vauxhalls, Fiats, and of course the original Austin Mini Cooper. It was a sad ending when those red white and blue Minis went over a cliff on a winding mountain road in the Alps.

What about the Cannonball Run? It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I'd have to put it at the top of the list along with Smokey and the Bandit....

Has to be Christine. That red and white '58 Plymouth was sooo hot I ended up buying one last year. Evil never looked so good.

My favorite car movie is a tie between "gone in 60 seconds(new version)" and "2 fast 2 furious" I have a thing for skylines. Its one of the only non GM cars I would buy. Both movies have some unrealistic car jump scenes, but they have some awesome chase scenes and great action scenes too.

i can even (barely) handle the first half hour of pretty woman... it satisfies my lotus esprit fetish. same with basic instinct... there's a decent (but short) race scene between two lotuses (lotii?!?).

2 Big differences there.

There was the original Gone in Sixty Seconds (93 cars destroyed in a 45 minute chase scene) featuring a 73 Mach1.

That movie was great.

Then there was the POS remake with Nicholas cage, which was really, really ****ty.

Smokey and the Bandit rocked.

So did Bullitt. Even if it was a ford, that uncorked motor sound (which was actually from a gt40) really gets the blood pumping.

Seen the movie too many times to count. GM should use the start of the movie for their GTO commercials- you don't see the car, only the sound of that V-8 revving.
How many kids' personalities changed in their teen years when they got behind the wheel?
The music really fits the movie.
