For oil changes?
Yeah. Don't forget, those Tesla oil filters are trick to locate. In the parts department and on the car. Takes a certain skill.

Not me.
Even out of warranty they have one big advantage.
My Cadillac dealer will give me a loaner no matter how old the Cadillac is that I bring in.

They used to give only new cars (usually an XT4) but lately they've given used cars too.
This is not all bad. One of 'em was a CT6!

But it is always a Cadillac.
They used to give Olds, but apparently quite a few customers didn't like that.
I personally wouldn't care as long as it works.
Well drat! My Caddy dealer has never offered me ANY of that stuff. What kind of rat is he?

Are you saying you're going with numbers that make no sense over objective reality? The idea that a jackleg outfit run by a psychotic billionaire has 10x the valuation of 120 year old GM is nutty as crackerjacks.
What it may mean is that Tesla has lots of room to go down if it does not hold at support here at $180, then it's $150 then $100 then $50 (June 2020), especially if the market has not priced in the strength of competition. It has big moves up so it can have big moves down!

I love the guy, he gets stuff done, pushes the envelope. Do you really think that GM, Ford or any of these other car companies would be where they are today if not for Elon. I think not. He showed that it could be done. They would have tried half heartedly and said see people don’t want them. They only got serious about it when they saw his sales.
Go Elon!!!
He's a billionaire tool and billionaires will NOT save this Country or this planet. He assembled a team to build electric cars and he invested in it, whoopity do. I loaned my sister $20 for gas so she could get to an interview, should I get the job? I'm more impressed with the engineering team at Tesla. So he has deep pockets, THEY are the ones putting the rubber to the road. Why do we give him the hype? I hope Twitter ruins him.

What are you arguing? That the market caps aren't "real" just because you don't like them? I "think" Tesla is overvalued, however that is irrellevant, just like it is for you. The cap is what it is. Buy the stock or don't. Your personal feelings about MUSK are irrelevant. Your overvaluation of GM is irrelevant (and forgetting the "troubles" in 2009 disingenuous). Move on.

I don't care for him either, but comparing him to loaning your sister $20 bucks is flat out nutty.

You might want to stop taking acid. If you've got me to defend Musk, then you guys have completely jumped the tracks.......Yikes. I'm out.

I was being sarcastic. (my point being that he supplied the investment, doesn't do the work, and he gets the credit) I know next to nothing about stocks, don't care. I just don't like Musk so I guess I'm just being immature and bashing him.....like he would care? He's not the same person he was 10 years ago. My feelings about Musk are not irrelevant, they are what I'm talking about. I can voice my opinion, you can say it's wrong. I'm ok with that. I admit I'm being petty about my dislike for the guy. Like you said, let's move on, we're off topic.

Tesla needs a real dealership network. After recalling another 322,000 car this year, they should have shops. They've recalled 4 million cars this year (well, some recalled more than once obviously so more like 4 million recalls.)

It's absurd,.. whether I like it personally or not. This is a guy that builds cars in TENTS for crying out loud. I don't understand or much care how stocks function, but I recognize idiocy when I see it.

You're assuming Elon actually cares about getting this stuff done or servicing his products.
It's easier (and possibly cheaper) to just outsource it to GM.

Isn't sell online but service in person really the ideal scenario?

Elon doesn't care about anything other than stoking his ego. ;)

Tesla doesn't actually have an official business agreement with General Motors dealerships for servicing Tesla products. It just turns out that 11,180 repair orders at GM dealerships since 2021 involved a Tesla vehicle.

That makes sense, as GM dealerships perennially score above average in customer satisfaction with service and repair. Plus, GM dealership service departments benefit from the automaker's industry leading engineering expertise with electric vehicles. GM designed, engineered, sold, and serviced electric vehicles long before Tesla Inc. even existed.

There's more to the recipe than "throw money at thing, make engineers make thing." If it was that simple GM would have dominated EVs long ago and we'd all be using Blackberrys instead of iPhones.

I think Musk is a knob and Teslas are poorly made but why are you so bitter?

Not really bitter, just think everyone fawns over him a bit much when he doesn't really do anything for a living. Then again, we tend to worship wealth in America.

C'mon man, can't you remember when Elon was sleeping under his desk at work while building trouble prone Tesla's in tents?

I remember that, but to your point Elon was sleeping while other people were building.

Employee's weren't building Tesla's 24/7 but Elon was at the plant 24/7 for quite awhile. Everyone has to sleep sooner or later, even in an office.
