Ford will definitely have two sub-F-150 trucks in the near future. High gas prices makes this neccesary.

Originally I thought that we'd only get the larger F100 to replace the Ranger, a decision that I found to be monumentally stupid. This news makes me very, very happy. I'm glad someone in Dearborn has some common sense.

It amazes me that it has taken so long for Ford to remember they still make that truck here in the US. I've never seen a vehicle go neglected for as long as the Ranger and still sell well.

Now if only GM would wake up and fix the Colorado with the Thai front end and interior......

if both trucks will go in sale in FY2011, the current ranger should be built until at least 2010 to avoid any hole in the ford's truck line up!

I think it is planned to be discontinued next year (it was planned to be already closed this year in 2008) ! I think 2 years before being replaced is too long. The factory should get once again a 1 or 2 years production extension.

:D GM has the new Global Colorado on the new GMT-700 platform in early 2011 , and GM will have the new Chevrolet Lambda pickup in the fall of 2011.
