Hey all -

I am looking to downgrade my car - I have about a year of payments left on my 2004 - and while I could afford to finish it, it would be tight - so I am looking to sell it, pay off the loan, and taking the remainder and buying an older car.

I keep coming back to the nice prices on 1996 and such SW's from Saturn

They seem like nice little cars. Should I keep considering them, or look elsehwere? any particular things to look at when inspecting it? Should I go with the Highline, or the basic... etc.

Thanks

igor

Check out www.saturnfans.com to get a feel for what you are getting into.

Plastic panels rock, hold up well over time.
Older models tend to burn oil.

IMHO, If you already have a good, reliable car, I would try to find a way to make those payments.

Very decent vehicle if it is well cared for and maintained properly. As plane said above, there is 8 years difference between the two models, find a way to make the payments. Getting a 12 year old car will mean repair costs that will more than likely be higher than your 2004.
