A newspaper article made a good point. Every so often, use the keys (for those vehicles that have both fob and key) to keep that part of the lock system operational. Sort of like pushing on the emergency brake every so often.

Ha! Good point.

Makes me also realize I don't know how to get into my car if the fob or electrical system fails. I'm definitely going to read the owners manual today. I think I read what to do when the car was new, but have forgotten.

I still start my Cruze with the key every time I drive. But I finally began using the fob to unlock the door - too easy to scratch the paint, when attempting to put the key in the hole in the dark.
