I'm guessing this is at a high school from the sign in the back

Who on Earth would drive these cars to school. More importantly, what parents would buy these cars for their kids. I'm more or less talking about the Corvette. The Caddy I can see.

Wow, what kind of parking spots are those? If I had a DTS or a Corvette, I'd be worried about dings! Well, chips in the case of the Corvette. ;)

Is it me or do other people think this too...

When I see rich parents spoiling their kids, I immediatly think of the the South Park episode when Will Smith and his family move to South Park and his kids keep saying "Please, Daddy, Please!"

The parents of Corvette kid are plain stupid.
Story time.
The parents of a girl my mom went to high school with bought her a Corvette as a graduation present. They gave it to her early, and she flipped it over killing herself. So she did not even make it to her graduation. And this was a 70's corvette with 205 horsepower.
Kids just can't handle that kind of power that a corvette has.
As for the DTS they are going for under $10000 for 2000 models which that probably is judging by the night vision camera.

How can a kid not handle the power? I mean it would seem logical that a Corvette would be rather safe. Stops on a dime, handles very well, good power. Essentially someone who doesn't make their decisions early enough should have more room to ****up.

I don't mean this to apply if your kid is a known idiot eg Hogan's kid

Anyone can handle that power, whether they choose to drive respectfully is up to them and how well they can handle it depends as well.

Some kids could be natural Nascar drivers, most others shouldn't be allowed to drive a bicycle.

Kinda like my old high school where the students drove nicer cars than the teachers. Yet my K-car was one of the ones broken into, along with my friend's custom S-10 and another buddy's old-ass Prelude (I think). They were nestled in the student lot among the M5, Trans Ams, Benzs and the like. No 'Vettes. I was usually late for class, so I'd often park in the teacher's lot and fit right in.

What I am saying is with a Corvette there is more temptation to eff around and that is where alot of teen driver accidents occur. And if kids get into wrecks in slowass 1992 civics due to speed think how they can wreck a corvette.

Who's not to think that this kid will drive this car fast. Peer pressure, temptation and "Showing off" are all things that give teens that extra push to drive there cars recklessly.

But, who knows, maybe this kid will be resposible (There's some out there. Not a lot, but some) and take good care of it.

What gets me is why would the parents buy it for him? How is this kid ever going to do things on his own if Mommy and Daddy are always there to give him what he wants?

Goodcase, did this kid's parents buy him the car?

The caddy i can understand (Luxury cars are one of the fastest depreciating vehicles around) and i have seen some good deals on early 2000 models from a brands like BMW, Benz, Cadillac etc. As for the Vette That ones a questionable purchase but Koasters right there is a very small percentage of teenage drivers that actually take care of there cars and drive responsibly. I knew a kid back in high school that owned a C5 Vette coupe. He was a responsible driver and the fact that he was a junior accountant helped with getting and saving the money to buy it. Also there was a dude that owned a early 90's black Firebird and he took meticulous care of it.

As for irresponsible drivers the only person I remember that would fit that description and routinely shoot his mouth off about his car was this short Indian kid from said high school. His family is pretty wealthy so naturally he and his younger brother got nice cars. In his case his folks got him a bright orange 350Z. he loved to show it off and talk about it regularly. Naturally most of the student body resented him for that and his car was keyed on a regular basis.

No way in Hell my kid would've got a Corvette.

He was lucky to get a Diesel Jetta. He begged for the VR6 (which I kinda, erm, did sorta promise him), but even though he was a responsible kid, I felt safer with him doddling along with only 90 horsepower! He quickly forgot about the VR6 thing and grew to love his car.

I got a brand new '85 Mustang GT for graduation.

too many people with toooooooo much money. let me rephrase that, too many morons with too much money. and you know its some spoiled kid that doesnt deserve it and doesnt give a damn about the history and following behind the corvette, it was red, and was a convertible and looked fast so he begged mom and dad for it. or its his dads car or his moms for that matter and claims its his. kind of like this douche bag from my high school did. with a Z06. idiot knows nothing about cars, or the heritage behind the vette. his grand parents bought him a new camaro back a while ago, why do stupid people get nice cars. and then they dont appreciate them.
