Two Dollar Gas?

How cheap? The national average may hit $2.50, and gas stations in states where pump prices are already low are all but guaranteed to dip into sub-$2 territory.

“We’ll see at least one station in the nation at $2 by Christmas,” Patrick DeHaan, an analyst with the gas price-tracking site GasBuddy told Bloomberg recently. “And that’s not really a prediction at all. That’s more like a certainty.”

Right now diesel is $1.20 to $1.35 more than regular around town.

My local station is $2.51 for regular today here in South Jersey... Most other stations around are $2.54-$2.61 in my area... Diesel is $3.46...
I paid $2.31 on Monday, but prices are continuing to drop. Today the price starts at $2.24.
Oh GGGGGas... read this title too fast... thought it was cheap night at the strip club...
The other day, I paid $2.799.

Just checked: Oil is $66.88 (WTI).
Now combine a low gas price and the new fuel efficient small cars and maybe kids will start driving more.

And fall in love with the automobile like we did when I was young and you didn't even think about the cost of filling up.

You just cruised around with your friends....

;)
2.87 for high test yesterday.
Collingswood NJ (across the bridge from Philly) 2.50
Syracuse NY 2.90
The reasons given for cycles in gas prices are bs

Oh the day, I remember being able to fill my 66 lemans up for $5.00 in 72 when I started to drive. Those were the days. Still own my 66 from HS.
On another note, the prez is now thinking of raising the gas tax, strike while the time is right!!!
Mid to high $2s here. Chicago will not see $2 soon, as gas is usually $0.30 -$0.50 higher per gallon than outside the city.
I paid $2.73 in Florida last week and paid $2.44 in Tennessee on Monday.

Back here in Chicago's western suburbs, It was $2.89 about half a mile from my house this morning and $2.65 about a mile down the road. Why the big difference only a mile apart?

Buffalo area it's still $3.15-$3.21! Why, why, why?
I saw an editorial last week that suggested that state legislatures should take the opportunity to significantly raise the gas tax as prices drop. The argument is that consumers won't notice.

they're actually doing that here. About 8 cents per gallon

On the way back from the cabin I saw $2.439 in Clarkston, MI

I almost always have enough Kroger points to get a $1.00 off per gallon, last night I paid $1.669 :lmao:

There you go: Oklahoma City.

Yeah, let’s go out and buy diesel to "save" money............

At those prices, you'd need to get 70% better fuel economy to break-even, but that is only at the pump, you'd need to save above and beyond that, to eat into the price premium the diesel powertrain and maintenance costs.
