No confirmation available.

Article quote:

The production version of the Saab 9-4x to be built in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico is now depicted on Saab Chile’s website as though one can purchase it new today.

All of the specifications such as 2.0 liter Turbo and weighing in at 3174lbs, harnessing 400 Newton meters of torque, getting 25mpg and 37mpg highway is quite impressive, but with a pricetag off $66,000 USD, according to the website, it sounds a bit steep!

Update: Saab Chile has now deleted the specifications page I indicated earlier this morning.

Specifications at link.

2.0L Turbo powering a 3,000 lb. crossover and getting 37 MPG?

Yeah right. It didn't work for the Camaro, it won't work for the 9-4x.

It was claiming 3200lbs though! The Camaro is around 3600lbs I think. Doubt it could be anywhere too much below 3500 with a 2.0L Turbo. Still 37mpg seems a bit extreme?? Unless this is a 2 mode hybrid 9-4X spec sheet. Vue will be the first 2-mode with FWD though and this is built off the Vue chassis, so that aspect fits. The numbers sound about right also other than the 3200lbs?? Think a Vue is already a hair over 4000lbs. If it really ends up that much lighter than Vue, I think MG and some others here could maybe say some nicer things about this and the SRX!!

Something ain't right. There is no way a vehicle of that size would only weigh 3200 pounds. Its also claiming it does 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds....using a 245hp 2.0L turbo. Sorry, not in a crossover. This info is probably only half right at best.

From the site......

Update: Saab Automobile USA has recently contacted me to tell me that the information on this posting is inconsistent with the “real” specifications of the Saab 9-4x.

:zippy::zippy:

The 9-4X is really 3174 lbs??????
You mean it's LIGHTER than the 9-3????
Is the 9-4X all aluminum with aluminum body panels?? Even if it were, it wouldn't come close to 3174 lbs!!! That's a full 1,000 lbs LESS than a Cadillac SRX!!!

$66,000??? Well, if the car were all aluminum, I could believe that price. But no one would ever buy it at $66,000.

You guys do realize that the source of this information is in metric and the currency isn't USD? Sadly this site didn't check their information...

Imperial and US kg are different.
Imperial for the mpg (not metric oops).
The currency, I am unsure which one but it is way off.

The Saturn Astra by their judgement (similar to Canada) is rated at 42 mpg.

25 imperial gallons to US gallons?? That's 30 US gallons.
That doesn't make any more sense either.

The currency is very strange. Unless it's USD + Chilean taxes + tariffs.

Re: True Or False? 2010 9-4X Production Specifications Appear On Saab History Website

It is amazing that a BS story on the Saab History website (a private endeavor not sanctioned by Saab AB or Saab USA) that has been refuted by Ryan Emge the owner, can have gotten so much traction. The way that Saab has been releasing info on new concepts, etc.. in recent months, there is little need to be reacting to some bogus item that obviously was very wrong.
