I am looking to buy a truck in the near future, and am really leaning toward a crew cab... but don't know if I really need one.

Has anyone had any experience with rear facing car seats in GMT 800 extended cab pickups?

That is really going to decide it for me.

thanks,
-Josh

Yep. I've hauled my niece around in just about every possible configuration of GM truck and seating position around over the last few years. The passenger seat can't go all the way back, but there's still plenty of legroom up front. The rear seat backs are pretty upright and seem to place her in an uncomfortably upright position now that she's moved onto a forward facing seat, but she hasn't complained. The anchors aren't especially easy to get to when it comes time to tightening everything up, but I've seen worse and I could do better with more practice I'm sure. Getting her in and out has always been a breeze, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one for periodic duty.

Thanks for the reply,

Well, I'm looking for a daily driver.

Do you know if there is a latch system on the ext. cabs? Is it only behind the driver and passenger?

I have a base for my car seat, so getting him in and out should be easy, once i get the base in.

When you say there is plenty of room for periodic use, do you mean it can get quite uncomfortable for daily use?

thanks,

The extended cabs do have a latch system behind the driver and passenger at the very least. I have a regular cab here that I went and looked at and it only seems to have the seat back anchors, but they're all the way across. I imagine the extended cabs have them all the way across but wouldn't be able to say for sure until tomorrow.

She's really content riding in trucks. It might be the fact that she's got a better view of things compared to her mother's car. I don't think it's uncomfortable at all for her. I just think there are probably better kid haulers if that's a major concern.

And yes, the booster is great. There's nothing to putting it in and it goes goodbye with ease.
