I've read of tickets being issued on freeways which use entry-exit time-stamped tickets like the NY State Thruway (well, it did last time I was on it), or the roads that use the E-Z-Pass, if your enter/exit times show excess speed.I know traffic cameras exist and are common, but can authorities give you a ticket if your vehicle is seen somewhere and seen again at another point but you arrived at the 2nd point faster than the speed limit allows?
I guess then you'd have to be going fast enough to blur your plate's image
Your car ran the red light, and as the registered owner, you are responsible for whoever you let drive your car.Or you can put a plastic shield over your license plate. I firmly believe that these cameras are unconstitutional because you have a the right to face your accuser in court. A camera can't take a seat at the witness stand.
Not necessarily. Often these cameras will start flashing anything that is in the intersection when the camera has turned "red"Your car ran the red light, and as the registered owner, you are responsible for whoever you let drive your car.
So if I rent a car I can speed all I want and Enterprise has to pay my fine? I don't think so.Your car ran the red light, and as the registered owner, you are responsible for whoever you let drive your car.
The ticket goes to Enterprise. Then Enterprise bills you for it. Just like you would probably do if you lent your car to a friend and he ran a red light while driving it.So if I rent a car I can speed all I want and Enterprise has to pay my fine? I don't think so.

IIRC in MI the boating laws are like that, if your boat is involved in a accident the owner is responsible if no driver is found. Not in MI. There is to much legal crap, it won't happen for 20+ years.....
no. thats like saying i loaned my friend my baseball bat for his game that day, only to find he killed someone with it. now its my fault? someone else committed the crime, i am not responsible or an accomplice in the matter.Your car ran the red light, and as the registered owner, you are responsible for whoever you let drive your car.
the difference there is you sign a contract that says you will be the sole driver of the vehicle. if you are not, then you are in breach of contract and there are other issues to deal with. there isnt a contract that says the owner will be the sole operator of my vehicle. The ticket goes to Enterprise. Then Enterprise bills you for it. Just like you would probably do if you lent your car to a friend and he ran a red light while driving it.
