Opinions Opinions Opinions. Now that Toyota has developed a small block V-8 to go play NASCAR TRUCKS. What type of vehicles do you thing that engine will end up in. A future GTO or Camaro challenger perhaps? Opinions Opinions.

Let's hope so. Competition is a good thing,it helps build a stronger product.

i wouldn't expect anything to come out of this engine even during edevelopment they were in shock...

"we've not made a cam in block carbureted engine in 22 years!"

tells you how bass ackwards NASCAR is

their only reason for entering NASCAR is to get brand recognition here in the states and to win

NASCAR is a relic when it comes to technology.

Toyota won't implement this engine anywhere else - it's a one shot deal for NASCAR's antiquated standards.

Don't expect to see the engine in any car or truck Toyota sells. This is all about marketing and playing Nascars rules.

Brand recognition with who, the Rednecks? Maybe that'll drive away the hoity-toity people who think Toyota's are better than American cars. Pretty soon instead of rusted Camaros and Firebirds sitting on blocks in front of trailers you'll be seeing old rusted Camrys or Tercells. lol I'm just waiting for the first hill-jack to make a 4 x 4 out of a Camry body. :laughbounce:

So you can't see the day when Toyotas are in the Nextel Cup?
Surprisingly Nascar appeals to a large cross section of the population. When Toyota has the V-8 working well they will be in the Nextel Cup racing a car that has nothing in common with what Toyota sells but the public doesn't seem to care.

Yep, they'll have a car that looks identical to the Monte Carlo/Taurus/Intrepid but it'll still be called a Toyota but will have no relationship whatsoever with any production Toyota just like the aforementioned 3 have no relationship with their production counterparts. Yet we still call it "Stock car" racing

YUP CHEVY FORD MOPAR to not sell what they race in NASCAR. Well what if Toyota pulls a fast one and offers a V-8 RWD coupe similar to what they would race in NASCAR? It would not be the first time Toyota stuck it to the big three.

I dont know they could use it in there next Tundra (in FI form obveiously) being that the 4.7 they use now has LESS HP then the BASE V6 does.(((WEARD))). What is it 5.8L in raceing form so say its the same size in there truck and puts out 350+HP! Frightening thought!
