It looks good, has ridiculously huge King off-road racing shocks, and it's owned by former Indy 500 champ Danny Sullivan, but that's not what makes this rally racer unique. Power for the PreRunner comes from none other than GM's LS2 small-block. TForce crew member Matt Riggle told Levine that the team chose the 375-hp, 400 lb-ft powerplant because of its reliability, as well as its ability to run on regular Pemex gas that's much cheaper than facing fuel.

Even though it is a GM powered Toyota, seeing that "T" emblem and knowing that under the hood is a LS2. It is like the pig ate it and won't spit it up.
Even a pig knows when something's good and worth keeping.

In defense of the I-Force, it probably would have done pretty darn good thrashing around in the desert, but we know the LS2 is lighter, simpler, and much more friendly to the race engine builder when it comes to part selection.

You darn well this is a total desperation move. Its also completely consistent with what Toyota engines have done since day one in racing.Lots of oil and metal - on the track.GMC and Chevrolet truck sales personal should send a thank you card.I see a great potential for an advertising campaign - putting this and the Tundra 'tough' ads together ........

Yes, in light of how tough the pickup market is getting with gas prices the way they are, GM should find a way to use this in advertising! It would slam Toyota right where all their reputation lives, Reliability!;)
