JAPAN: Toshiba to produce motors for Ford hybrids

Japanese electronics conglomerate Toshiba Corp. on Thursday said it would produce motors to be used in Ford's hybrid cars, making a full-fledged entry into the automotive parts market.

According to Reuters, automotive parts are expected to be one of the fastest-growing markets for electronics manufacturers in a few years due to growing demand for hybrid cars as well as wider use of car navigation and other communication systems.

This might be more appropriate for a forum about Toyota and Ford hybrids, but note that this article states that Ford also gave permission to Toyota to use some of its diesel technology, so it's not just Ford throwing in the towel on its own R&D.

Deisels in toyotas huh? Probably the next Tundra will be quite a power horse by the way things are going for Toyota.

Picture this; 2006 Motor Trend truck of the year, Hybrid full sized tundra.
Hybrid is defintaly what people want.
In business, it's either keep up or move out of the way.
