No GM car cracks the top 10. Well that's a butt kicker.
Read more about the Top 10 Safest Affordable Midsize Cars of 2015 at AutoGuide.com.Safety should be an important consideration for anyone buying a new car, but it’s probably your top priority with a family to haul around.
According to IIHS, there are six midsize cars that are moderately priced and have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards, while nine others have earned Top Safety Pick honors. But just because they’ve all earned accolades from IIHS doesn’t mean they’re all equally safe – some performed better than others in certain crash tests.
Other than the #9 Chevy Malibu...oh right...no one here likes it so it doesn't count. No GM car cracks the top 10. Well that's a butt kicker.
You weren't aware that Autoguide is GMI's master?Ok, here with ago again. Another ****ty Autoguide.com article makes it to GMI's front page! What has happened to this site? Has it been annexed by Autoguide?
Exactly! Why can't you just scroll down in these things? It's not like there is too much verbiage. Oh, maybe because they can fit more ads this way? Whatever the reason, annoying as hell!Oh goody - another eleven page slide show......
As a general rule of thumb, AutoGuide has horrendous articles. I like the in-house stuff that GMI and FIN put out MUCH better.Ok, here with ago again. Another ****ty Autoguide.com article makes it to GMI's front page! What has happened to this site? Has it been annexed by Autoguide?
While I agree with you about the backhanded compliment, it really is GM's own fault because they break their own rules regarding not speaking about future product all the time, especially with the next Malibu! That's a crowded field of ugly right there... although I like the Mazda.
Glad to the Malibu get some props although the write up of course included the typical backhanded compliment about GM working on a replacement...
Thanks for correcting the erroneous thoughts perpetrated by this doofus list.Bogus list in large part and there is no useable rank order within it anyway.
Also unnecessarily includes a qualified 2dr Coupe and a 4dr CUV and an unqualified 4dr Station Wagon in with three unqualified 4dr Sedans and four that are good while completely ignoring five 4dr Sedan that truly belong.
A better method and list is available from Informed for Life.
http://www.informedforlife.org/
You can also develop a pure 4dr family Sedan List.
Based on current information / Jan 11 2015 for key data a real list would be -
1. ) Chrysler 200 4dr Sedan top 3 %
2. ) Dodge Dart 4dr Sedan top 3 %
3. ) Chevrolet Malibu 4dr Sedan top 3 %
4. ) Ford Fusion Energi ( only ) 4dr Sedan top 3 %
5. ) Hyundai Sonata 4dr Sedan top 3 %
6. ) Kia Optima 4dr Sedan top 3 %
7. ) Kia Optima Hybrid 4dr Sedan top 3 %.
8. ) Subaru Legacy 4dr Sedan ? top 3 %
9. ) Volkswagen Passat 4dr Sedan top 4 %
Mazda 6 4dr Sedan does not quite make it; nor does the Accord 4dr Sedan and especially the Camry 4dr Sedan.
Worth a mention perhaps.....
Accord Coupe ( 2dr 'Coupe') does make the top 3 % ; and the Subaru Legacy 4dr CUV also makes the top 3 %.
The Prius V craptastic 4dr Station Wagon is currently not fully determined but is more than a bit unlikely to make it with a full data panel. Priuses to no surprise never have while the Prius C is also to no surprise a poor safety choice with real meaning for the words.
Seems this list besides some other things including but not limited to selectively running together a top scoring Coupe and a CUV with a large group of 4dr Sedans also incorrectly promotes two Toyotas, one Accord , and one Mazda very directly @ the complete expense of one Dodge, one Ford, one Hyundai, and two Kia 4dr family Sedans.
Thanks, you saved me more trouble. About half the new posts are Ottoguide BS. I hope the new Chicommie Masters will be understanding of this facts.Ok, here with ago again. Another ****ty Autoguide.com article makes it to GMI's front page! What has happened to this site? Has it been annexed by Autoguide?
Well, that's three votes for Ottoguide. Yes we can! :fall:As a general rule of thumb, AutoGuide has horrendous articles. I like the in-house stuff that GMI and FIN put out MUCH better.
these Autoguide articles are awfulOk, safety article. Cool, I get that.
Only car that they even mentioned air bags in was the Malibu. Yet, every single blurb has the engine options? Fail. Fail. Fail.
The Malibu, which Consumer Reports halfway likes. I agree with CR's observation that the Malibu is a decent car that happens to be a very poor value because the interior is cramped, the seats are uncomfortable, the fuel consumption is too high, and the overall package looks and feels cheap for the prices the are asking (even with supplier discount). No GM car cracks the top 10. Well that's a butt kicker.
And each article equals 10 clicks on their page. It's sneaky and annoying and I don't check out their articles because of it.Exactly! Why can't you just scroll down in these things? It's not like there is too much verbiage. Oh, maybe because they can fit more ads this way? Whatever the reason, annoying as hell!
