I thought the current Verano looked to econo-car when I first saw it, but it quickly grew on me to look substantial and good. This new Verano is hitting me the same way.
My opinion has been much the same. Liked it when I first saw it, and has been growing on me since. I think in certain colors it looks downright elegant. I hope the new one can do the same when it is finally "in the flesh" too. Many carry on about the grille and headlights being too big or such and the "assbrows" over the tail lights gaudy, but to me these things and the curve of the glass behind the rear doors are what give it the looks and appeal it has.

I like the sleeker look at the front, and the tail looks better too. The side is too busy, though, especially the extra character line toward the back that looks like they were trying too hard to give it familial resemblance with the LaCrosse. But, if the interior is well done, and it gets more rear seat room and loses weight, it will sell looking close to the above with just a few changes.

Looks cheap and generic compared to the current car.... that's unfortunate.

Looks like a goddamn Elantra.
If that is the Verano we're getting here than everyone at Buick needs to be bitch slapped.
GM had said Buick NA will be more aligned with Opel so I am expecting the new Verano to look like the Astra sedan. If it looks like that Chinese POS than kiss Verano sales goodbye

The two larger photos, are bad photoshops of a Chinese base model version.

Notice the collection of smaller photo's below, we see; chrome window surround, chrome strip door handles, nicer headlights (or at least a better view of them), and a grille that's properly positioned on the car (as opposed to that horrendous photoshopped 3/4's shot)

Over all, once we see it on some proper wheels, I believe this a great improvement. The car looks much more substantial now.
The rear has been completely fixed. Gone is the flat cliff end of a trunk lid, with polarizing chrome eyebrow tail-lights. The sculpted trunk edge and tail-lights, really add depth. Only wished they were LED though.
The face is much more aggressive, and more premium looking than you'd expect on a compact. I don't think it's much larger than the out going model, just looks that way. But it does look more 'Regal', upfront.

The pics aren't the greatest, but this car, in these pictures, looks cheaper and more down-market than the current U.S. Verano.

Like an earlier poster said, it looks like a Kia or Hyundai from many years ago.

I think that the somewhat generic styling of many cars and a silver / gray exterior with blackwalls can give most any one an "old fuddy-duddy" look, so perhaps the Verano will look better in a different color with the chrome all shined up standing out. But it does concern me that, lately and, ironically, despite the reaction to the Avenir, that Buick continues to play the styling very very conservatively. If the Envision comes to the US, it's another very conservative design.
