First the bad news...Ford lost 8.7 Billion in Q2...not good. The good news... Ford confirmed that 6 Euro Fords are coming here and that 3 NA plants will be converted including Michigan Truck, Louisville Assembly, and the already announced Plant in Mexico. The First two will make C-size cars(Focus, C-Max, S-Max, Kuga, etc.) Ford also said that the Ranger Plant in St. Paul will stay open til 2011 when the all new world Ranger will come out. Some really good news is that a all new Mercury small car will come out in 2010 along with a new Explorer which will be unibody. Hybrid production will double, mostly because of the new Fusion and Milan Hybrids and the fact that Ford will have its own supplier for their new Hybrid system. The new Taurus will drop in in Mid-2009 and Fiesta in first part of 2010 and Focus sometime in 2010. Expedition production will move to Kuctucky Truck where the Super Duty is made and Explorer will move to Chicago or Oakville.

...so, basically this is nothing we don't already know. Thanks for the update, Ford. I was thinking that, like, maybe, you'd push up the introductions by 3-6 mo or so. Like Fiesta starting production this time next year rather than 18 mo from now.

What a disappointing announcement.
