This ad demonstrates why Cadillac is a clueless disaster

Fine, Cadillac has a couple of nice cars. But nobody is going to spend $60,000 - $100,000 for a nice car. For that kind of money, the customer wants something more. Specifically, the customer wants to associate with the brand -- it's image, its value, it's prestige. This is why a person who spends $300,000 on an Aston Martin would never buy a $300,000 Lamborghini. This, folks, is what luxury is.

With that in mind, watch the follow commercial. Then ask yourself: what kind of a person drives a Cadillac? What kind of person is attracted to Cadillac's image and values? With whom will I be associated if I drive a Cadillac? Are the answers to those questions worth $60,000 - $100,000?

Heh, hipsters.
Another comparison of Cadillac Gooberboy and Mercedes Man:

Do the Soho types really not see how they are turning Cadillac into the butt of jokes? Imagine Rolex, or Gucci, or Burberry, or Tiffany & Co. resorting to women spilling coffee on themselves and men who cannot talk around attractive women.
Yeah, Cadillac's ads suck, but you're comparing a 60-second spot to a 3-minute lifestyle feature.

Why can't they fit a lifestyle ad in 60 seconds?
I didn't know Cadillac had a whole series of ads with that nerd. Does Cadillac really need nerds in their ads?
Why can't they fit a lifestyle ad in 60 seconds?
Gee, I dunno. Maybe because of terminal incompetence?

Yeah, that. :D

They did.

Every butthurt loser from coast to coast cried and whimpered.

If you have a good product and a good name, you should flaunt it. This ELR ad did just that.

I liked the Escalade ad with Cleopatra in it. It gave off a very luxurious, regal vibe.

You didn't graduate from grade school did you. They haven't even moved to NYC yet and you already have them putting out really old ads?! Must be nice under that rock you live. Let me guess, you also think concept cars are production ready and it only costs $3.50 to make a car from idea to showroom ready and if all US oil was drilled gas would be .05 cents a gallon too?

The only Cadillac ad worth a sh 1t in modern memory, and Caddy pulls it because they have been deballed.

The Poolside ad was great. It really had me believing that Cadillac advertising was going to turn a new leaf.

But then, nothing happened.
I never seen any of those ads on TV. Are most of those ads mostly from Youtube/Cadillac channel viewing only? A lot of those ATS Coupe ads with the dufus in it, I could not imagine it being on TV.

Rogue is no longer, or whoever it was that represented Cadillac advertising, have the account so I highly doubt those ads will be seen on TV again.
I'm sure with a new ad agency the way Cadillac will be marketed will turn around dramatically. Last good ads to come from Cadillac was the Led Zeppelin ads with the Escalade and all the V ads. Since then they pretty much suck!
