Good, perhaps nasty SLP will keep their hands off it.

hopefully they'll keep their hands off everything. They should just stick to the aftermarket. GM needs the big name stuff like the Judge, Firehawk, and SS in house.

SLP never had a chance. So you own the name, now what? How do you expect to get a donor GTO to make the Judge? Unsupported by GM and SLP is nothing more than a second rate, overpriced tuner.

I'm glad GM got the name back. A Judge from Pontiac would add more power and cost much less than from SLP. But how did they get the name back? Court battle?

I also wonder how that will affect the relationship between SLP and GM. I'd hate to see SLP go off and start modifying Celicas. Although then we'd have something halfway legit from Toyota to race against.

Never expected to hear this... I thought SLP had it locked. Good to hear that GM will be able to use that name for their limited edition GTO. It woudln't be right for SLP to make one.

They've been doing Rangers for over a year now...

They've also been making mods for Mustangs.

I used to really want a late model SS, but i'm glad I got my Z28. I support GM, not some company trying to make a profit off of a classic moniker.

SLP does make some good exhaust for 3rd gens though.

I imagine it went somethin like this...
slp " we have the tradmark nanner nanner nanner"
GM " give us the name or well withdraw all our cars from your services.."

at this point Slp bent over and undid its pants

From the post it seems like they trademarked "The Judge" so will they put decals on the car that say The Judge, and not just "Judge"???

SLP still has their trademarks. You cant blame SLP for applying for it. It's a smart business move on their behalf. Shame on GM for not doing their homework. Their lawyers dropped the ball if they indeed intended to use the brand name themselves.

SLP has these...

GM applied for these AFTER they found out about the above SLP trademarks.

Or maybe SLP made a deal with GM to get in good with them. They could have wanted the trademark as leverage. Who knows?

Laters,
Scott
