Thank God for cheap gas.

A prayer group in Washington DC is claiming the credit for the recent sharp drop in the US price of petrol.

Rocky Twyman, 59, a veteran community campaigner, started Pray At The Pump meetings at petrol stations in April.

Since then, the average price of what the US calls gasoline has fallen from more than $4 a gallon to $3.80.

"We don't have anybody else to turn to but God," Mr Twyman told the BBC. "We have to turn these problems over to God and not to man."

I remember "back in the day" in 2000. It seemed pretty obvious that Bush was the go-to guy for cheap gas, Gore with his global warming rhetoric would probably have resulted in a carbon tax or something along the way...

then the friggin Iraq happened, oil went down initially then way way way up! Argh!

God plans everything. This isn't something that just happened- there is always a plan. I won't get into this here though.

I wish more of us could go to God and ask for help when things go bad vs. just complaining about it and trying to fix it ourselves. Maybe that's why this world is the way it is because of what we don't do vs what we do.
I'm reminded of what my dad told me when I was little...

"A guy is shipwrecked and clinging to a piece of the boat in the middle of the ocean. He prays to God to save him. A ship comes by and offers to rescue him, he declines "God will save me". Then a helicopter comes by and offers, but he declines again. Soon enough he dies of hypothermia. He goes to Heaven and asks God "hey what happened out there?" God says "well darn it I sent a boat, then I sent a helicopter!" :lmao:

That is so funny, I've heard that same story too only told differently. The way I heard it was a man on top of a roof with flooding going on around him and he ended up drowning then going to Heaven.
I guess the moral of the story is "God helps those that help themselves"... my point is just, how can I say, He will give you the strength, but if you don't flex the muscle, you are still screwed.
